Besides that this entices more posting with never undocking or throwaway-cyno alts, i still like the concept.

I would seriously have to stop flaming all the "i want a button to make cloakers visible" threads....... #

WAIT, nope... not going to stop!

While I support the idea, and would probably receive some bounties due to some of my posts, I really think this would simply do two things -

1. More people would post with alts to avoid bounties.

2. A number of people would post more insulting stuff to generate bounties.

If thats what you want on the forums, then go ahead.

Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Please put an add bounty button.

And apply it to the whole account distributed evenly among all the characters.

Devious.

This sounds like it could actually be the best way to get around the alts problem, so long as it didn't mean that the bounty-setter could tell who the other characters on the account were.

Of course, it'd encourage creating worthless alts to fill up the other two slots and therefore dilute the bounties, but that's better than encouraging people to create worthless alts and post with them.

Given the number of posts from people who seem to think that having a bounty placed on them makes them the worst person in EVE and totally untrustworthy, I foresee this becoming a magical generator of forum tears. Beautiful.

So what you really want is a way to encourage more people to make foum alts on clean accounts - thus driving up revenue for CCP.

We see through your evil plan. *tinfoil*

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

While I like the general idea, it's most likely a bad idea, unless there are some precautions being taken: By code injection (some cross-site exploit, a browser add-on, proxy server or whatever) you could essentially forge a site that will drain all your money just by visiting it. Sure, CCP could probably detect something like that in their logs, etc., but it's still something to consider and the reason for me saying "no" - at least for now. There'd have to be some confirmation dialog that can't be clicked by JavaScript or anything similar.

Also, I agree with some posts above, people would just use anonymous alt characters even more (bad idea).

I'd hope that CCP's web team would be able to deal with CSRF.

PLEX for read-only would be way better because i would spent a small fortune setting EVE-O read only

also make it so you can make ISD read only

While I think the bounty system is a good idea, I believe it should be your in game actions which drive the system rather than forum ramblings or miss-interpretations of those reading ones poasts...

Intentions aside, this sounds like it would just give the trolls power to affect the game more directly.

Yeah, I am sure that ends well for everyone.

Per the subject, we have a LIKE button for posts. Why not allow folks to see the current bounty of a character here on the forums and then add to it?

Of the many big subjects that the CSM is going to be discussing next week at the Summit in Iceland, this is one of those 'little things' that, with enough support, might actually happen in short order. This isn't something that needs or will get a lot of ~Summit time~, it's just an idea that was floated in casual conversation with CCP and I've not seen a single person say it was a bad idea yet. I mean, I can eve mail people out of game, why not show them some lethal affection as well? Twisted

So, thoughts?

Given that CCP is already hard pressed with lack of manpower relative to amount of fixes and upgrades EVE needs duplicating already existing feature from EvE client in to forums seems largely a waist of time. Should be CCP wasting any man hours on EVE forums it certainly should no be on any such gimmicks.

I'd say yes, but after they have sorted the forums first.

They are still god awful slow and unfinished. If it came in now, I'm not sure I'd trust it.

* Places bounty * checks wallet and finds it empty. Lol

Not going to waste precious iskies on worthless forum alts Twisted

The solution to this is to add "Last Logged In" information, possibly right below the "Likes received" line below our Forum Character Pictures.

While people could "log in alts" to renew their log in date... I don't think most people will go to that much trouble....
