Question regarding bitter vet status

So from my limited knowledge of the game a bitter vet is someone who has

1. Had their gameplay style nerfed

2. Invested tons of time, isk and skill points into training for a ship only to see it nerfed and they believe that they have wasted that time and CCP will never refund their SP.

So were new Vets created when

1. Supercaps were nerfed after people spent a year perfecting them

2. Tengu pilots who spent a year perfecting that ship only to find out that they have been nerfed.

and the advice given is

1. CCP; spent six months training some else. just keep subbed.

2. Bitter vets "Cross train for everything as one day your favourite ship will be nerfed to death"

Question

1. Have any new bitter vets been created over this patch

2. Can you think of other times that bitter vets have been created.

3. As most players are caldari and the tengu is a viable option for a new player do you think that many will consider quitting as they have just spent there first year training for a ship that has been nerfed and they cannot be bothered to train for a different ship (before you say that it does not take long to train for another ship remember its not what you think its what they think)

I have now become a bitter vet, much against my natural inclination and will I might add.

To simply effectively kill of my Navy Domi as an effective mission boat, is a nerf too far for me.

This is not a signature.

I transcended bittervetness when I finished my last T2 large weapon system.

Now that I can fly all Frigates, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships, AFs, Dictors, HACs, Logis and T3s at V, with any T2 weapon as required, I feel able to take a relaxed, holistic view of nerfs and just quietly sell ships that don't work any more and buy whatever does.

'Nerfs' (=rebalancing) are in fact creating new content, because they force us to change ships, fits and tactics.

I can somewhat understand if a newbie complains about a ship being nerfed because it may be the only ship he can fly well. For vets there is really no excuse for whining about nerfs because we can just adapt and fly other ships or use new, adapted fits.

If you think you're a bittervet because your stuff was nerfed, you're probably just a whinyvet. Although the tears may certainly be bitter.

That makes you a vet, but not necessarily bitter.

Having 2823 posts on FHC however fully qualifies you for bittervet. Big smile

Bittervets have a deep and passionate love for EVE without knowing it. Cool

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I've seen people use many many different definitions for Bitter Vet, or even just Vet. But I have seen characters younger than myself in this thread referring to themselves as vets.

I have been subbed since July 2009, and have NEVER had a sub break. Does this mean I can start referring to myself as a Vet? Am I close?!

If you have to ask, you're not a bittervet.

This sums it up correctly.

I've got to the point I start another account every year or two then buy another 30-50m sp newbie character off the sales forum to use for different things to keep the interest. (any low sp character just means training basic core skills and I've done that too many times by now).

Is that a new corp member limit skill or something? Lol

Also, the nullsec stagnation, anyone recalls back in 2008 when the CCP news were "big fleet XYZ meets big fleet ABC" all the time. And what about the big thefts, the big alliances sabotages... the news constantly talking about EvE. And now it's all gone.

2005 player here, never sold, with 100+mil sp. I'm only bitter because most of the "wonder and awe" have gone out of the game. I've been around for so long that I can see traps and bait from a mile away. I know how most everything works, and have done more things than I can count on both hands. So, nothing really surprises me any more.

I just make the most of it and do whatever seems the most enjoyable, which is not nearly as fun as things when they were fresh.

Ah well, to be expected I suppose.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Given the slowness of these forums that's pretty impressive.
