Adapted L4 Tactics

So I resubbed my accounts a month or so ago after a few years away. Been having fun discovering new content, etc, but one of my main productions was running level 4's dual boxed with an Apoc and Logi/Sentry Ishtar.

I was just starting to get into more serious production (I have an indy alt I was using to process salvage, mins, trade, etc) when these new changes showed up. I used to just aggro with the Apoc, drop the Ishtar in with sentries and 2x med RR, and everything was pretty cake. Granted, I only really run missions when I don't need to be that attentive.

So this tactic is pretty much obsolete now, and seeing as how I just lost the Apoc warping to the room in Worlds Collide where everything is right on the accel gate (scrammed and popped in about 7 seconds), it's clear that I'm going to need to have some serious more tank potential between the two ships.

So I'm wondering what would be a good dual box tactic now. The main pilot flies mostly Amarr (some gallente, but hybrid/drone sklils are mediocre), and can fly just about everything (just trained Marauders). The other pilot flies Gallente, can fly command ships well, great drone skills, and is pretty fair at either shield or armor tanking. Both pilots can fly logistics.

What would be a good two ship combo now? I haven't trained up to T3 (am considering it, but would prefer to fly more affordable hulls), and am only somewhat considering forking out for faction hulls (maybe a navy domi, but that's the only one that really stands out).

Should I just fly really big tanked out BSs basically and give them both RR? Should I go smaller? It seems no matter what, just about anything now requires some form of RR setup. Or should I just say screw it and go roam nullsec in the new cruiser hulls?

I've heard a lot of people are having success using the new micro jump drives, but I've not tried them yet.

My mach has ~660 dps tank vs angels, and I can handle the full aggro room in WC, I usually have ~40% armor left when all the frigates have been dispatched., after that I can fire up the AB and I receive a lot less manage when moving 500+ m/s, and my shield stays pretty much 90-100% after I can move again.

IMHO, your best bet is to over tank one (even keep it at low dps if need be), let it go in first to get all aggro, then bring in something that can take out the smaller ships quickly, as they are really the reason most people are dying now in missions like WC. Being webbed and scrammed by 6-8 frigs at once is less than ideal :) I'm not really sure your price range, but I know you can get a mael up to 1200 omni dps tank easily.

I went with XL ASB on my passive rattlesnake. Shield to 50% - activate.

Has been working out so far.

Started to ignore the frigates now until I bring the room DPS down, then go after them with lights.
