Hmm have mixed emotions about Retri as an expansion.

The Crime watch changes are a huge improvement. Molden Heath (traditional pirate area) was hoping last night. Lots of small gangs moving around, it was great.

I am however bleeding sec status faster than I ever remember before. But the GCC going away maybe worth it all on its own. To not have to dock up to wait out global is a massive plus, I hadn't really taken account of how annoying that was.

Destroyers seems a bit meh, but loving the cruiser changes. Stabber... lol and 800 dps vexor. Haven't tried out the new Rep boats yet. Overall I have to say its a success.

If the changes in crime watch bring loads of people back to the game for PVP then that could be a very big deal indeed. All in all yeah good (bring back the Jukebox).

My one major peeve is the changes to corp hangers on capitals. Not the end of the world if EVE is full of people to xplode.

Best expansion ever - Dominion (which now needs a re-do)

Nah not that I've seen. Could be I've missed it. Kept running into a nano Deimos gang last night of all things. Then ran into other small formed fleets, was great.

How is removing 1/10 and 2/10 static frigate plexes buffing lowsec?

T1 frigate rebalance + new destroyers.

Removes static frig plexes in same patch.

I think we ain't giving credit to the upgraded UI.

Ships, inventory, active ship, wrecks stay in place and everything runs way smoother.

Agreed, they needed to fix the "cloaked in last room farming all day" strategy though.

CCP needs to introduce a new type of plex/anomaly that will be semi-permanent, easy to warp to and limited to smaller hulls. I'm not talking about FW being expanded to all of lowsec; we need static plexes that move around when completed with a similar payout as the 1/10 & 2/10's were before. Make it new, make it exciting, add such content to existing systems and constellations.

Everybody is running exploration sites instead of pvping now in lowsec.

Well, my 1.15 billion bounty hasn't given anyone killrights on me. So I doubt it.

Agreed. Apocrypha got me interested in Eve again, and Retribution will get me playing regularly again Twisted

Basically this.

Apocrypha >> All.

But Retribution is a decent expansion. The only way they could even approach Apocrypha in the future is if they hit the new-POS thing out of the park. Modular, scaling from small to large, etc. (the way they have sometimes talked about the designs, last at the AT 10, I think). Doubt that'll happen (at least in one expansion). I have more hopes that they'll manage to do so with one expansions + iterations in the following two or so (thankfully they ARE doing iterations now, like they followed through on Faction warfare now).

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the current direction of Eve.

I love this expansion. Ship fits need to be redone so everyone can toss out the cookie cutter ships builds. The Bounty system is is on the right path and will get tweaked. Far far better that the non-extant system before. You can actually make a career out of Bounty Hunting.

Some aren't too bad, but they're more than countered by the mission-runner/drone/AI clusterfuck, the HM screw up, and the removal of jukebox.

HM screw up?? Get real. Heavy missiles were brought in line with other medium long range weapons. If fact, the change to them it is the exact opposite of a screw up.

It's really nice to read some of the comments in this thread, especially around how Crimewatch has loosened up the restrictions on fighting in low sec.

I sat down with Masterplan and Greyscale some weeks ago to review the goals for the feature, what we considered success and how we would measure that success. One of the goals was to clear up confusion around the rules of engagement and remove it as a barrier to participation in low-sec pvp. My gut tells me that people don't mind losing a fight to a skilled opponent but they hate losing a fight because they didn't understand the rules of the game, this is the kind of experience that makes you put the game down and do something else where you don't feel so cheated.

With this in mind we started thinking about how we could measure participation in low-sec pvp and decided that characters taking a security status hit is a a good measure of involvement.

Quote:
Therefore, to measure involvement in low-sec pvp, on a given day, the number of unique characters to receive a hit to security status is a measurement of the kind of activity we want to see.

This is a good indication of players that are actively seeking out low sec pvp. Now, we measured this number before deploying Crimewatch and agreed that an increase in 20% after deployment would equate to success against this goal.

We are still waiting for the numbers to stabilize but it's somewhere in the region of a 40% to 50% increase on TQ right now.

It's really funny to see all the people claiming...everything is fantastic. Most of the fighting is over in highsec already, except for the baiters using the suspect system to sucker some dummy into a personal duel.
You don't think that will last long do you?
Lowsec got a long overdue buff, but do you really think the average player cares about that?

We'll see, but chances are, number will be down to pre-patch in 2-3 months...25% from the peak.

But perhaps people should really be worried about the coming Dust flop. Lol

I am not, nor will I ever be...Nicky Yo.... The question you should ask is.....When will they release the NICKY!
