Im looking to get a laptop to play eve on, i cant really bring a desktop with me on a truck.

I know everything I need for a descent one.

But I have no clue what type of standalone mobile video card I need to get.
apparently mobile video cards are poorly documented on new egg and having to Google every card because there all called.something stupid like 3345m 8476XL M and crap like that is slowing this down horrably.

So I'm assuming someone has gotten one in the past few months and can point me to the good cards I want.

At most 900 us. Less is better.

I'm really just going to be playing eve on it and probably some DF if it will not explode from that.

I would like to have the ability to run 2 accounts at the same time.

But beyond that its just going to be for internet and playing some dwarf fort.


Whats the diffrance between a nvidia gt 630m and a gt 650m?

A dedicated 128 mb will do well.
Basically if a laptop has a dedicated graphics card and was made in the last 2 years will work easily.

Don't buy HP crap, they will ruin the card with their own outdated drivers you can't replace (last I checked they are too old for eve on a laptop bought this summer).

Yes, I am butthurt.

I can say for myself that HP laptops suck. Everyone in my family had an HP laptop at one time, only for it to fail in some matter or another.

I play eve on an HP pavilion laptop. I paid about 750 bux for it. I can run two eves at the same time easily. The main thing I have is a 1 gig dedicated video card ontop of the ram. That helps a lot.

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 17R this afternoon: 17.3" HD display, 1T fixed, 8G RAM, 2Gig NVidia GeForce GT 650M video, Core i7 processor. Runs Eve pretty sweet so far... $849 at Best Buy (US).
