Omen:

PG rigs are too expensive to justify this fit. I'd downgrade HPL to FMPL and get a capbooster instead of web to sustain guns and tank and mwd. Also you may try meta MWD, irc it's 90% times a better option. All this requires only one ACR rig.

Oh and conflag is a terribad ammo. I deal more damage with IN MF due to better tracking and quality hits on my Legion.

Rats in my space are EM/Thermal, and not that it takes much to kill them - sometimes just harsh language...hehe. Anyway, yet I use Hob IIs, but being a good Amarrian, I had to for propganda, er... informational truth, use Acolytes.

PG isn't for cap it's for PWR - you will never fit the guns on this with out all 3x of them, the PG isn't capable, so you take a hit there, but you get the bettest guns/volley, and yep scorch is where it's at, so you will have a nice damage dealing out to about 22kms with this fit, its a concession I grant you, but depending on the wallet, PG rigs are too expensive, at least for what I consider expensive.

You can also take off an ANM II and drop in a second HS II and add to the BLAP of it, but I like my resists a tad higher, but I wouldn't not fly it with dual HS IIs, it does some very very nice damage then, but that would be more like a gang fit I think, but it would depend on the play style and situation I suppose.

Your fits are terribad. There is a website for this, it's called Battleclinic, use it.

Here are some fits. They are not terribad:

[Omen, New Setup 1 copy 1]
Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Tracking Enhancer II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Warp Disruptor II
Large Shield Extender II

Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Focused Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch M

Medium Energy Collision Accelerator I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I

Hobgoblin II x5

The above fit is super easy on fitting skills and serves as a training-wheels ship that will help you get into Scorch kiters. Get used to having no backup if something gets under you guns, it's something you will need to be used to for when you aren't terrible at PvP.

AND:

[Maller, New Setup 1]
Damage Control II
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Warp Disruptor II
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M

Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

Hobgoblin II x3

This isn't necessarily the best fit, I just threw it together super quickly. Based off my experience with the harby, you want point and web because you want to use it with a gang. Scorch is, as always, your best friend, while ploughing into web range of primary and laying down Imperial Navy Multifrequency is always an option because of your sexy reload times. 44k EHP makes this thing pretty fuckin tough. requires a 1% PG implant, unless you have ****** skills, in which case you should really work on not having ****** skills. If the web is super unecessary for gang work, you can't deal with the PG requirements and you are having cap problems, all of which seem likely, swap the web for an itty-bitty cap booster, or a big kid cap booster if you can fit one, drop the ACR for a third trimark and downgrade to a T2 800mm plate from the 1600mm.

All the fits in this thread are terrible.

But making good fits for terrible ships is very hard.

Maller without cap booster caps out in seconds, Maller without web can't hit anything.

Poor maller can't win.

You should post stats with your fittings like EHP, speed, dps and range.

My take on the Omen:

5 x Focused Medium Pulse LAz0r II, Scorch M

10 MN MWD II
J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster, Cap Booster 200

2 x HS II
DCU II
EANM II
800 mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten
Either Tracking Enhancer II or Adaptive Nano Plating II

Medium Energy Locus Coordinator
2x Medium Trimark Armor Pump

5x Warrior II

It's all about the damage projection... 361 dps doesn't sound like a lot, but it hits out to 26 + 4,9 km.
Dps with conflag would be around 450, but I only use conflag on double-web ships.
1655 m/s; 21,6k EHP- 24,5k EHP if you use an ANP II instead of the Tracking Enhancer. Not sure what's more useful tbh, I will have to pewpew a little to find out....

Don't use warp scramblers on a ship with such a great optimal range- you will want to fight at about 20 km, not 10 km where Minnie and Gallente will clearly out-dps you.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

good question!

The answer is: the fitting that wins.
