By the way with "green" security switch I'm still getting some type of aggression timer if I've repped ship which attacked someone.

The safety needs to be fixed to retain its previous setting, then an option added under the "General Settings" tab to remove it from the UI.

Hands down, one of the most unnecessary features included with Retribution.

In-game sounds muted since Retribution, F10 Jumper since Odyssey

I like the choice. I'm not against forcing responsibility, but seriously, having to waste extra steps and clicks to remove your logi's from target (sometimes not worh taking autotarget off) is just wasteful.

I don't like the choice for carebear reasons, but I do like it for the full control since you can just as easily click it off to suit your needs instantly.

/thread. Honestly, this is the logical way to look at this. No more UI clutter, just me and my choices.

Turn your UI off then, go hardcore. =)

I like the safety system, but i cannot turn it off permanently. I dont need mothers hand to play eve. It annoys me everytime i login i have to switch it off again and again.

Please work faster on this. Thank you.

The safety not remembering its position is absolutely ********! Persistent settings meow!
So pissed at the amount of kills I've missed because I log in, undock and go to tackle and think its lagging. I've been attacking people with remembered settings so long I can't get past this crap. How hard is it to include a variable with a few options that can be controlled from the menu? Solves everyones issues with it. GAH! It also takes a long time to hit the yes I like to fight button and then confirm it. If I'm being shot its even worse ffs.
Lets release a broken system and fix it later attitude kills me.
This patch was amazing with the only thing I hate (absolutely and completely) is this pvp avoidance system.
Ugh
CCP fix this damn thing.
Ima go play planetside until you figure out how to create a variable and a 5-10 lines of code.
Check it. All my accounts expire soon, fix it or bye bye.

I mean I understand the tought behind it. It is a great Idea to make sure you do not missclick or that you can choose how dangerous you want to play.

But I do not need a Mommy in this game always watching over me and choice and stop me from doing something.

Eve should have given us a possible way to turn it off on every account. I am paying for a game here. Not playing beta. I want that if I take a a choice I just have to turn it off or on once.

Sure. lets ged rid of all warning signs near electric power lines, so we can watch how children burn and learn.
Although i agree that once you turn off safety system it should stay turned off but as i read somewhere they will implement this in next patch.

But disable warning signs so we can LOL on "newborns" is stupid and you should be ashamed. Attention

The ability to make bad decisions and lose your ship is another part of what makes Eve online great! Losing a ship you mined for a week because you took ore from someone's jet can is awesome. This causes Eve online players to learn "what not to do" quicker than in any other online game. There is a penalty for being a dummy or for being ignorant. You can't just go to the healer and get resurrected with all your gear. Most of the time you lose your ship and it's fittings.

I see this as a way to get more players into Eve. And I understand why CCP, from a business standpoint, has implemented this new mechanic. I've invited some WoW players over and the fact that they can lose all their stuff easily makes most of them quit and go back to the mind numbing....go kill 20 mutant goats and get magical boots/repeat a thousand times game play. The other side to this sword is if new players can't learn the initial "hard lessons" as I call them, then they won't be able to make it in Eve Online's sometimes fierce and unforgiving universe.

What say you?

I feel the same way. But I kinda doubt that the safety button was created to protect new players. I think it was more like for low and null people who are used to fire at everything that pops in overview.

That EvE never has been attractive to WoW players is a good thing. EvE is unique and in its own way "superior" when it comes to consequences.

CCP has already said that persistance of the safety setting was planned but didn't get into the release for time reasons.

It'll be in one of the patches (probably Retribution 1.1), so then you won't have to set it to yellow/red by hand all the time. It'll be persistant on a per-character setting.

Way it should have been to begin with, and it should be back on the setup page like everything else. Make it a big green button, I don't care, but making the game idiot proof is not good for a sandbox....

I am not, nor will I ever be...Nicky Yo.... The question you should ask is.....When will they release the NICKY!

How? You can't get criminal or suspect flags in null, so the settings shouldn't make any difference.

yeh they shouldn't, but they are still there and you cant shoot anything until you turn the safe off

Um, what?
I've gone into fleet fights with full safeties and haven't had a problem shooting ships or pods.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)
