I've been having a problem with the tracking camera. Every time I "untrack" or lose focus on an item, the camera goes into a really annoying spin making it impossible to concentrate. I've almost lost a couple of ships in PvP due to this.

^^ Not my video, but it shows the problem in action. My camera was working fine yesterday, and this issue only started happening after I "Set Onscreen Tracking Position" to something different.

I filed a petition, to no effect. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hit 'C' to deactivate it. It is a toggleable feature not a bug, and definately not a reason to file a petition.

CCP is aware of the issue and will be working on it next week.

Good reading skills there.

Yeah I have this problem too and it's been driving me up the wall because I really like the new tracking option and want to use it...

Same. Only noticed it today. And it's a right pain in the arse. I've had to turn the camera tracking off for the time being, but it will be going straight back on as soon as this is fixed.

Confirming a "unwind" camera bug, the bug i'm fixing only occurs if you switch to map or planet mode while tracking, the camera would keep searching for the target (without much success obviously) and wind up it's internal rotation counters which would then "unwind" once camera control is released - fix for this is undergoing testing and branching.

Have you guys observed the spinning without going into a different camera mode?

It happens even after I clear cache. I mean, for the first few mins/hours after I clear cache, the camera is fine, but after, it starts winding up and spinning as in the video I posted.

Had this problem on launch day. Everytime the camera unfocused it quickly span 360 degrees and settled back on the ship. From day 2 onwards though it hasn't happened.

This still happens to me. I would like if the problem could be found, refreshing cache every 2 hours or so is very annoying.

For me the tracking cam works fine, untill I try and rotate the camera around my ship again. On the first try the cam will go haywire and "unwind" when the mouse button is released. After this unwind everything works fine, untill I click another object to target with the camera. Then I have to "unwind" again to work with the camera manually. It's starting to become sort of a routine, so it doesn't affect my pvp to much, but it's still annoying.

After not opening up the map while the tracking camera is on, I haven't had the problem at all. If it happens, you need to clear cache, from In-Game settings, and make sure you don't open the map while the tracking cam is on.

The "unwind" problem sometimes afflicts me when undocking. I'm not sure what the camera is trying to follow, but it's a slow pan rather than a spinning unwind.
