Eve is mostly a PVE game if you don't count market 'pvp' etc. Many 'PvP'ers even spend much of their time PvE-ing for isk.

Actually...EVE is mostly a PvE game. The majority of EVE players ignore PvP at all costs. The reason you don't really see that is because of several things. You spend most of your time in Null with other PvP minded players and the vast majority of High Sec bears are casual players who don't visit the forums and don't actively follow the direction of EVE. That being said, so long as the majority of High Sec players are casual and not interested in visiting the forums and being more involved with EVE's direction, then you will likely never see a CSM representative solely for High Sec.

I just realized I quoted the wrong post...lol...sorry about that.

sure but that's because you'd be an unqualified quack who was handing out diagnoses willy-nilly and who was facing license revocation proceedings as a result

But on the INTERNET, in places like EVEO GEENERRRAAHL DISKUSSION, he can be an expert in telling us that we are terrible people.

Go and look up the clinical definition of obsessive disorders. We can wait.

It's not just a topic they care about, it's something they think about and talk about constantly. Day after day. For years now. I spend most of my time in hisec and don't even think about it so much.

I have high hopes for Anslo and his Proveldariat Movement.

That man is a true representative of the average highsec carebear. Too bad his potential voters are all AFK....

…and the question remains (disregarding the tinfoilhattery of that statement): what issues are missing on the agenda due to the current representation? I never mentioned adding or removing things — I was asking about issues.

Riiight… could you provide an example?

If you heard about someone that spent 8 years writing thousands of 'letters to the editor' to the local paper about something which bothered them you'd think they were crazy as a loon.

When are the next CSM elections? They're the best entertainment value on EVE forums, by far. Rage, drama, violence, delusion, disinformation, hucksterism, pandering, mendacity, patheticism, farce, comedy-- you name it, it's there.

Well, those that are at keyboard certainly should not have any issues with outside interference with their mining.

But you are right, my mistake. His potential voters are the AFK-miners AND those at keyboard with not enough grey matter inside their heads to a) come up with a solution themselves (for example orbiting the rock instead of just sitting there) or b) heed those exact solutions they are told by third parties time and again.

I've never seen it articulated either. I believe it would go something like this:

1. More isk per hour for all PVE activities across the board.
2. Salvage drones (oops already got that)
3. Total protection be it from CONCORD or some other mechanism, inability to be interacted with by any other player without consent.
4. Larger cargoholds so that mining requires less attention (oops already got that)
5. Make rarer commodities from WH or 0.0 space easier to obtain or even be manufactured in high sec.
6. Sever any ties to or make irrelevant WH space or 0.0 to any high sec manufacturer.
7. Nerf bumping or remove the mechanic entirely- this could go hand-in-hand with point 3: inability to be interacted with by any other player without consent.
8. Make suicide ganking nigh impossible.
9. Make freighters impregnable.
10. Make it easier and faster to autopilot from one market hub to another.

Does that cover it? Smile

Is there any representation in the CSM for "Carebears" in highsec?

I genuinely don't know but I noticed most of the recent patches have been to buff the PVP aspects of Eve and nerf the PVE aspects of Eve. It seems like most of the talk is about nullsec and stuff to help the big alliances but nothing for the small PVE corps in highsec.

Yes I know they changed NPCs to attack drones and dumbed down mission agents but I was talking about real improvements that would make PVE less boring and a grind. For example, change missions to make spawns more random and less predictable, put level 5 missions back in highsec and make them require a fleet to do efficiently. These are just two random suggestions and I'm sure someone could come up with better ones if thought was given to the topic,

Yes I know Eve is a mostly PVP game so please don't attempt to troll or derail the thread with comments about we need to remove highsec etc.... I do both PVE and PVP (on separate pilots) and enjoy both aspects of Eve.

I'm just asking if any of the CSM represent the small highsec PVE corps rather than big nullsec alliances like Goons etc.

There will be a CSM rep from DUST after the launch, however he/she will move to Null-sec an expansion later, might get a couple of months of hi-sec-csm

I declare my self the CSM of all "CareBears". Bow before your new leader to advocate your rights before CCP. No longer will you be insulted and slandered. The PVPers will recognize your infinite and immutable force of good. We like to build up the Eve universe into a profit engine while the knuckledragging pvpers have no idea they are biting the hands that feeds them.

Yes we feed them only scraps. and they beg for more.

Thanks for that

75% prior to Incarna liked PvP

While only 74% liked mining.

Does not really make EvE a pvp game.

Just because there is a statistics chart stating that such and such a percentage of players are involved in PvP doesn't mean they actually "like" to PvP. For all we know a large percentage of those players are the victims of PvP that they did not intentionally or willingly participate in.

Just saying...those numbers are obviously skewed...by how much? Who knows...
