This green button is confusing me....safety??

If I put it on red does that make me BAD like in Michael Jackson's song?

It doesnt make you bad, just allows you to do bad things, thats all.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Red means faster target-boom when ganking in hi-sec without having to click stupid warnings.
Green means less herpderpwhineypetitions that ccp has to deal with in hi-sec from the bears.

Putting it on red actually does make you BAD in the Michael Jackson sense of the word, yes.

I've actually never seen a carebear whine about not knowing who to shoot. I've seen new players complain about not knowing better, but never a bear. This isn't a carebear button, it's a "lets try and help the new guys out" button. AND THAT's NOT A F***ING BAD THING. G** D*** sometimes I wonder if you guys really are slow.

I have a lover, her name is EVE. I see her every night and all she asks in return is that I have a pilot's license.

Not slow, in fact many of us are worried about the opposite, undocking in a rush to get into a fight only for the ship not to shoot cos the safety has turned back on.

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Fair enough. I don't oppose the idea of having a setting to "lock" the safety in a position. But I don't appreciate some who blame carebears or noobs for the way it is now.

Yeah, it really needs to remember what you set it at between logins. That's about the only problem with it.

In a sense that would be called being "Slow", just saying. CCP has already said they are putting in a option that alows you to save the setting so until then I guess you just have to remember something every time you log in, though that might be too hard for some...

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

I like to activate my carebear button when drinking heavily. It makes me invincible!

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

If the guns didn't shoot in your fight with the safety on, CONCORD would have killed you, the button only stops actions that causes you to become flagged. I can still shoot any valid target that I want. So undocking in a rush to get into a fight usually means that I am not rushing to suicide gank, which if that is what you are doing, that is fine as well I guess. It would just mean that maybe you should just HTFU and L2Gank? Blink

The Green button does not bug me.

I can still shoot people so I don't see the issue even with the button green. Yes they are war targets.

I do see and issue if your a -5 guy on the way to pop a barge.

Only to be there and not shooting, having forgotten to change it to red. but CCP is going to fix it for them.

Wouldn't it also stop you from shooting somoeone in lowsec, when you may or may not care about being criminally flagged?

I seem to be pointing this out a lot, but if you read the CCP announcement it said persistancy would be done if there was enough feedback to justify it, therefore it is the job of all of us who want persistancy to *****, moan and complain till it is done.

Your response tells me you spend very little time in low sec, us -10 types in low sec tend to be shooting positive sec people who may not have shot at us yet. In a fleet fight you need fast responses to primaries, in a roam or a camp you need to get the guy locked/pointed fast and first time.
