Highsec "Carebear" representation from the CSM?

Is there any representation in the CSM for "Carebears" in highsec?

I genuinely don't know but I noticed most of the recent patches have been to buff the PVP aspects of Eve and nerf the PVE aspects of Eve. It seems like most of the talk is about nullsec and stuff to help the big alliances but nothing for the small PVE corps in highsec.

Yes I know they changed NPCs to attack drones and dumbed down mission agents but I was talking about real improvements that would make PVE less boring and a grind. For example, change missions to make spawns more random and less predictable, put level 5 missions back in highsec and make them require a fleet to do efficiently. These are just two random suggestions and I'm sure someone could come up with better ones if thought was given to the topic,

Yes I know Eve is a mostly PVP game so please don't attempt to troll or derail the thread with comments about we need to remove highsec etc.... I do both PVE and PVP (on separate pilots) and enjoy both aspects of Eve.

I'm just asking if any of the CSM represent the small highsec PVE corps rather than big nullsec alliances like Goons etc.

"put level 5 missions back in highsec " - Nope. The whole point of them is to drive people out of high sec. I do agree random spawns would make things more exciting for you guys. Combine that with the sleeper AI and hell missions might even become interesting for a time.

I will say though the wave of tears would drown all of high sec if CCP ever changed the spawns to random spawns and random triggers, faced with a genuine though provoking challenge most high missioners would probably implode forming a new black hole transforming high sec into a genuinely exciting place to be, hell maybe we could have a storyline where the JOVE come back through the carbear corpse black hole to cause havok destroying concord and igniting a new space war. Jita might actually burn, new ships could be introduced and fun could be had by everyone.

There have been in the past.

A few CSM's back Ankhesentapemkah was elected with the second highest vote count of any candidate. She was rabidly anti-pirate, anti-anti-carebear, anti-scam, anti-anything-not-carebear-at-all. Even went as far as to say that anybody who pirates in eve is scum in real life.

Problem was... She was crazy. (Or I thought so)

Also she was removed from the CSM for an NDA disclosure violation. Prior to that she showed that she wasn't able to get along with the other CSM either. This was especially true after she threw a metal spoon across the table at one of them in anger in Iceland.

Anyhow, she proved that carebear rep's CAN be voted into the CSM. But instead of any candidates coming forward and campaigning since her, people instead just ***** and moan that the elections are rigged and you can't win without the backing of a mega null sec alliance.

You are talking about incursions, try em.

P.S. I don't get it - why hi-seccers decided CSM should have their representative? CSM is null/PvP/alliances/sovereignty meta-game to make people there less unhappy / bored / etc. It's another type of show like alliance tournament a.k.a. vanity fair. Hi-sec doesn't have any participants and need for the fair.

Actually, I'm not sure if it's still this way, but level 5 missions did used to net tens of thousands of loyalty points per mission.

Anyhow, many of them are just one jump out of hisec.

Some people figured out how to solo them... And I think they may have actually implemented some changes after that since they were never meant to be solo'ed.

Ha ha, good times. I wish I'd been around to follow those episodes. A Like for this post as a fine piece of documentary reporting.

I always used to say that her first problem was running for CSM with a name that nobody could ever possibly pronounce, nor spell without seeing it in front of them.

Pvp needed some love, expansions have been about pve for too long. Its not like incursions or wormholes added any pve content or anything.

To be fair i think you will find the changing of the npc AI is the first step in revamping PvE content

Eve is mostly a PVE game if you don't count market 'pvp' etc. Many 'PvP'ers even spend much of their time PvE-ing for isk.

I often don't agree with her and she's not (IMHO) overly effective at representing the "carebears" but Issler Dainze is a person that fits the description.

As an at least part time carebear, I usually get more luck just arguing my point here in the forums and addressing the more active members of CSM. Seleene, Hans Jagerblitzen, Alekseyev Karrde, Twostep and/or Trebor Daehdoow.

Sorry Issler, not a personal thing, just an objective observation.

Ah, yes, the "spoongate"... I recall that caused a brief outcry; a very brief one since actually no one cares about CSM anyway.

To OP: Kelduum Rheevan as boss of Eve University is probably as carebearish as it gets.....
