So in short, I will be travelling soon and still want to play eve, are there any decent laptops that can play eve, not looking for anything special or too expensive, the cheaper the better as long as it will run, just enough to mine and haul. sorry if this is the wrong forum but it seems relevant since im asking for advice

My Alienware cost me £500, it runs it very nicely. My mate got a free laptop with his mobile phone that also runs it well. These days pretty much any laptop with a dedicated graphics card will run it well enough to mine and haul, lets face it you don't exactly need a high frame rate for that ;)

Look at the specs that CCP says that is required to play the game.

Find a laptop that meets these minimum specs.

You'll need a laptop that has a gaming video card; the majority of business laptops cut costs by skimping in the video card department. You're probably looking at the $800-1000+ range, rather than the $300-$600 range, though you may be able to find a deal.

One other thing to consider is CCP is adamant about keeping the fonts small in their user interface, so if the laptop has a smaller screen, you'll be squinting a lot.

I believe the specs currently require hardware texture and lighting (T&L) and Shaders V.3. The specs of the laptop's video card should say whether it supports this.

I have myself a Lenovo Intel i5 laptop. 17" screen and it handles Eve well.

I went slightly over the top because I wanted it be my back-up development machine but something with less oomph would be good. And when I say it handles Eve; I can watch my ship explode with full textures and with no lag at all. Sigh.

Got a Toshiba Satellite A300-23U myself.

It can run 2 clients at once (at low settings - but I didn't expect high settings anyway from a Laptop).
