I'd be ok with these as long as all notifications are based on the player clicking the button "ready" "dead" or whatever.

Fleet warps are already enough.

I'll agree with having to click all broadcasts.

So, if you're off grid, you trigger off grid.

If you're in a Pod, you trigger in pod/whatever.

Same for all other broadcasts.

The question is on whether individual broadcasts should have a color highlighting or just a readout on broadcast

hmm.. yeah, I can't see that going over well for anybody. I do agree that some pilots know better than some FCs though. Having someone Fleet warp you when you'd much rather not jump on that gate you just D-scanned 20 + ships and 3-5 bubbles on while roaming in your fleet of <10 for example.

On the other hand, maybe he didn't tell you and they're his friends? ..or maybe you really can beat them, and he just doesn't need to D-scan? The Scout said they were asleep?

But seriously, having an FC control is helpful because chaos sucks; however, being able to manually give him/her that control rather than him just having it would be nice. Sort of a ship control access that can be transferred through the fleet menu.

No, you don’t understand, those fleet automations should go exactly because without them pilot mistakes are more likely. Is this chaotic? Yes. Does chaos suck? Yes! And this is exactly the point. Then fleets with more experienced and disciplined pilots that fly together for a long time will make less mistakes and will be much more capable of overcoming that battle chaos then blob made of random dudes. Overcoming that chaos should be the point and challenge of eve gang and fleet PvP, the thing that will distinguish best from mediocre and bad, and it should be team sport, not just FC and bunch of inept random dudes that are there more as a spectators then as players.

That's all well and good, but I'm still wondering what people think of my Google doc on the fleet UI.

Oh my! You have a nice google document there!Big smile

OK, seriously answer now. I have no problem in improving ergonomy of UI as long as it does not outsource pilot decision making or automate combat.

That it would not do.

It's simply a combination of the fleet list, watchlist, and broadcasts into one, easily manageable, possibly color coded UI to keep you from needing 3 or more separate windows open.

All broadcasts would be displayed here on the character broadcasting.

The only real new addition is a ready check so that FC knows when players are ready for whatever task has been set forth.

That's pretty much it, only a tab for broadcasts is needed, a tab for which ship they're in, and a broadcast tool bar at the bottom showing the typical broadcasts are, plus the addition of a ready check.

tnxs for the assistance.

I'm not that advanced with editing software, plus I'm a little too busy with software from work anyway.

The new proposal for more information in the fleet window is great. I would love to solve the "x up if you are ready" in fleet chat.

I like the ready up, however, my favorite part is having all the information combined into one window.

No more having to have your fleet, watch, and broadcasts lists open.

One simple window, everything you need.

I posted this a while ago:

Please Add a Fleet Bonus Information Tab to the Fleet UI

I think this information aught to be incorporated into any "new" fleet UI.

Hmm, as far as the booster and how much they're putting out, I don't think this needs to be added to the display page I'm thinking of, however, another tab just to show boosters and how much boost wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm affraid adding this directly to the read out display that I'm suggesting would be too much, and since this information isn't active information that you'll be looking at, at all times, then I would say it best for this to be on a secondary page where all non-combat information could be retained.

Mockup updates :

1.
My Fleet tab :
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/744032MyFleet.png
At least... the Watch List window would not be necessary anymore.
(this is the same mockup posted above)

2.a
Broadcast tab :
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/578043Broadcasts.png
Two checkboxes could allow the player to display broadcasts, enemies other fleet members target, or both.

2.b
Broadcast tab :
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/862405Broadcastsonly.png
This is the same tab but here you can see that the player only enabled broadcasts.

3.
Fleet Ships tab :
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/919546FleetShips.png
This tab would display the kind of ships fleet members are in + a way to inform the FC that you are ready, busy, away..
Maybe these radiobuttons could change automatically if you are afk or in a station for too long.. (just an idea..)

EDIT : i added "ready - busy - away" but maybe it would make more sense it there was "ready - away - dead" ... ? what do you think ?

looks good, however, if you look at my google doc, you'll see more what i'm looking for.

The broadcasts, watchlists, fleet members, and their ship would all be combined into one tab, and the broadcast options would be there as well.

Now, the fleet roles, distance from you, and ready checks can stay on a seperate tab.

As far as fleet members' targets...Well, some players, like logi's or ewar may have more than one target, so this may not work..

I admit, some informations could be displayed on the same tab (I will make another mockup, gathering these informations as much as possible).

But there's also something to take into account : the window width. The more information you add in a window, the wider the window will be. And I am sure CCP takes that into account because if a window can't be resized to the minimum, some players will complain.

That was another thing I stated.

The window itself, and the columns for the fleet UI will be adjustible in the same manner our overview is.

So, perhaps the player would have the option to add and/or remove certain columns.

Perhaps rezise it so all that is showing is broadcasts and watchlists.

I would very much like to see it similar to the overview so that it's up to the players to build and adjust it the way they want it.
