Setting up a warp bubble on the static exit.
Good idea or not?
Maybe for some SB runs?
Small would do the trick I"m guessing?

Set up a warp bubble.
Sit and wait.
See if targets show up.

Doesn't it's effectivity get crippled by the jump eing able at a greater distance than jump gates, and mostly having no idea of where will the target come from?

It all depends on what you are trying to catch and which direction the target is coming from. If you are trying to catch something that is trying to leave the system, then a warp bubble can help, but an SB run will be laughable. If you are trying to catch someone who is coming into the system from your static, then they can simply jump back.

I would train for a med bubble at a min... and you can place the bubble on the wh, so center it on the wh as best as you can. (use of the tactical overlay is helpful for accurate positioning)

however, depending on what you are flying.... either close range weapon system or long range/missiles, can help determine what size bubble to use, in case you are caught off guard, and they have back up,,, you can get out of the bubble, out of point range, and warp off. or stay close to the wh to jump through.

I like med and larger, when in fleet, when solo, smalls work perfectly. :)

Another thing to consider, as mentioned above, is what targets you will encounter, and from what location are they coming from. If you are that picky or hungry for a kill, set up multiple bubbles, for example, like in a flower configuration as you do with your scan probes... you dont need an overlap, but make sure you are covering all angles of approach, and allowing the bubbles to reach a certain distance from the wh. you can sit inside the bubbles, or on the outside... so range me, or jump thru, if in trouble. Hope this makes sense and you have a great time catching prey... also, dropping a can or two in line of warp will help de-cloak any scout ships as they warp to the wh... Also keep in mind that bubbles are detectable on the d scan... and an experienced pilot wont simply warp to 0 with out d scanning the wh from a safe or planet. All you ahve to do is warp to, stop ship, then d scan... as long as youre in range. :)

this is where Hics and interdictors are great, cause they can cloak up, watch d scan and when they detect a ship in bound, they can through up a bubble.

* from lack of exp, I never flown either class vessels and I do not know if they will disrupt the closing warp bubble as they come out of warp, and manage themselves out of range from the wh. Because I think it will, but you have to have it deployed before they hit warp to.... I forgot.

^^ Bubble needs to be up before the target ship has entered warp.

Generally you can use the direction of the system residents POS as a good angle from the WH to use to catch stuff if your sneaky, I don't want to spoil some of the other methods for people who I know use them very well but theres some useage of bubbles in non-obvious ways thats also pretty effective (theres a lot of misunderstanding as to how the bubbles can work outside of their simplest useage).

I put a couple bubbles on an old hole last night. Didn't kill anyone, but I suspect I annoyed a bunch of people. So I guess it depends on your goals.

Would you mind describing these methods? Even if in game convo? Or shoot me an eve mail? I can send a gift donation for your troubles. :)

I like bubbles Twisted

But bubbles on statics should only be used as a stop gap when farming to slow potential hostiles down, If your desire is to kill them then set up drag bubbles.

Drag bubbles from WH's directly to a hostile POS can be very effective as you encounter a lot of lazy people warping direct.

Actually you are wrong, the bubble actually needs to be up before they initiate warp, not enter warp.
