How many of you prefer the old Locked Target display over the new one?

oh....wait...
It worked out for ship hangas, dude.

I'm glad at least these 'who is damaging you' red blobs could be turned off (Overview settings | Misc). Together with those annoying crosses (seriously, how the ****load of crosses is more informative than a range spheres of tactical overlay?)

Also: epileptic 'Taget locked' blinking of the whole thing; locked target list elements take too much space; locked target icons (that ones with ships) are too small, they're like crammed into the circle and supressed by the HP indicators; the HP indicators themselves are not consistent with HP bars in 'Selected item' window and player indicators, and they're too thin, and they're subdivided into small cells like the player HP indicators, but this looks awful because of their size.

2nd Commandment of Video Game Design: Thou shalt place an "OFF" switch option on all new features, for only then will you know if your customers really like them or not. Without this you are simply a slave to whatever lies that the drooling viagra-snorting lobotomites over in marketing feed to you every day to try and justify their own bloated paychecks.

I'm having trouble judging the HP of shields, armor, and hull at a glance with the new system. I'd prefer they color code each type and allow us to customize it.

you have trouble reading the new circular display?

you fail. contract me your stuff.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

I liked the first iteration of the circle targets that everyone bitched about because they couldn't tell what was shield/armor/structure from a static picture. Duh. The current ones are kinda ugly. Nowhere near as slick as the original circle indicator.

I can even stomach that if the new damage notifications didnt give me brain cancer, why The F*** have a constant stream of unreadable text scrolling in the middle of the screen? I heard rumours that I can move it, or even get rid of it.

You can get rid of it by going to log and disabling it there. It won't show up in the log either then so GG CCP. Very well thought out as usual Roll

Within the gaming area, it's pretty good. But along the top of my screen, it's a bit of a nightmare. I appreciate the effort, but as i stated before, don't fix what isn't broken.

Just curious as I find the new one, while it may look cooler it just doesn't display information well enough. I have to look REALLY closely for a few seconds to notice exactly what my target has for shield armor or hull. It doesn't have that ability to glance at it like the old one. If anything I hope CCP implements the option to use the old version if you want to.

Thoughts on this?

I'm digging the new one. I can't read anyway, so I don't care what it says.

+1 old style, new one is hard to see and takes up more space (had to shrink my overview)

The new one is not clear and definitelly too small for my poor eyes :(

The first idea was good. I really hope CCP will change it back because combat will make people tired of looking at tiny circles with tiny damage bars for hours.

This can be solved easily.

Remove the ribbed pattern on the bars and make them solid as they were.

new one's ship icon is too small, i can't figure out any ships! i don't even care to see the 3 different levels of tank. just a red bar is enough ffs

Definitely preferred the old one. Did a few missions yesterday to try it out and it left me with a headache.
Way too much clutter on-screen, and the circular targets are hard to read. The damage notifications are also pretty annoying, speeding past in the middle of the screen.
All in all - it looks like aesthetics won out over functionality, and that makes me a sad space anarchist.

This ^ and if not this I prefer the original old ones they may not look as pretty but they are easier on the eyes and therefore more functional.

A friend of mine prefers the new style though so I do appreciate CCP that is not always easy to please everyone.

Echoing the OP, it looked fine from the devblog but after seeing it on TQ for the first time, it certainly needs a bit more work to bring out the clarity.
The old target bars were clearly defined, this new bar looks muddled.

Someone suggested the ribbing to be removed - I'd tentatively agree if it does bring out some clarity.
Those shield/armor/hull bars also need to be both thicker and thearc length be brought down to no more than 180 degree.

"bring back the old x" demand doesn't work well with CCP unless all of eve cries.

this is very annoying, and it's not something you can get used to, because on high resolutions, it is simply too small to figure out what's going on in a time sensitive situation like pvp engagements.

the people who like are the ones who take their time to inspect it, it's shiny, but it's completely impractical for fast pvp engagements, and that's all I care about. there must be some better midway than this atrocity.

I love the new change i can see why people "preference" the old one. But thats a small details in the new "look". Perhaps the will increase the details in some patch later. For the rest new look win over the old look, about details the old look for now.

I like the new one. Can actually get much finer detail on shield states / regen.

No issues to report here. Old, new, makes no difference to me

Multimonitor baby Lol and I only run one client on it.

Honestly, though, I think there are just a lot of people who don't like change, so I'll throw in my support for the new system just to spite them Lol
