How much did you put on them? The new bounty system works differently than the old system. Killing them once won't necessarily clear the bounty pool. Now, you put a bounty of X ISK on a player, which funds the bounty pool. When they are killed, the value of the kill is calculated and a percentage of that value is paid out from the bounty pool to the bounty hunter. If there is still ISK left in the bounty pool after the payout, they still have a valid bounty on their head.

In other words: smile, someone keeps killing your target for cash and prizes.

Thank you for that explonation that makes it not seem too bad to put up with looking at it like that . I put 5 mill on for lols howver is there a way to stop it if you wanted to opt out of the notification. I would of thought the option would of been available.

I'd like the evemail to have more information - like the full kill report. Every time I get a notification I find myself wondering what has happened exactly

Y'know, this posting makes me vey happy?

At least the b'tards responsible for the 10b isk bounty I currently wear will be getting squillions of irritating eve-mails. It renews the faith, that there is a God ... at CCP.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

And in return there will be those that will smile knowing your getting hunted and now i know just how happy you are then another 5 mill wont hurt that much :))

LOL, we live in nullsec, we are always hunting or being hunted. The consensus here seems to be that if a ten billion isk bounty brings more hunters into our homelands then it's a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Ooooo, I'm wounded and there's a big bounty on my head, come on out to Vale and share in the glory and the rewards.

Edit: It's official, not just my perspective .... http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/14bxw9/looks_like_the_bounty_system_is_working_quite_well/c7bsuf7?context=1

Get yourself killed in shuttles 50 times an hour to really screw with the people putting bounties on you.

Hmmm, I can’t see that happening. In fact I can’t see any of us making any effort in response to the bounty – except to appreciate the generosity of it all.

Still, another day later (and more bounties added), I’ve had a little more time to see the new system in action … and to think about it a little more.

For nullsec dwellers the new bounty system seems a bit like having a sugar daddy paying billions of isk to encourage people to come fight with you. Since we welcome all visitors who are brave / stupid enough to come play, having other people paying them to do so is fantastic. I can’t see any of us wanting to discharge that bounty, suspecting we’d want it to last as long as possible and maximise the number of wannabe-bounty-hunters who come visit us in Vale.

From where I sit this new bounty system, and the 10b+ bounties we’ve acquired, looks to be entirely win-win:
- We get new blood coming to visit and try make a bounty hunter name (and some isk) for themselves;
- Those wannabe bounty hunters get to travel and meet new ppl in sunny Vale;
- The bounty posters get lot of eve-mail feedback to confirm the beneficence of their actions;
- We change nothing in what we do … well, once we get over ogling our own awesome bounties.

Hats off to CCP for a system whereby the wealthy can pay to provide a small faraway PvP alliance with even more PvP … just brilliant. Thanks also to the generous sugar daddies who put up all that isk to improve our lives.

Perhaps it’s going to affect hisec dwellers differently but, so far, the new bounty system seems to be a darn good thing.
