Bounty system is going out of control.

Woke up this morning to find that some person with a hatre for miners, and lets not forget "no miners no ships", decided to put bounty on all miners and their corps in the system we use.

Bounties need to be re addressed so that the person placing a bounty on an entity NEEDS a decent reason other than "Oh what the F**K, ive made a **** ton of ISK so why not use this new Griefing technique handed to me by the game makers".

Yes i know a bounty doesnt mean u can be attacked without concord intervention in hi sec but its yet another annoyance from those that only see EVE as another 1st person shooter.

Cheers for making the game a little less appealing to a person that likes the industrial side of the game.

But, how does having this bounty on you change anything? I mean, really, how does it impact anything at all?

I don't understand how you consider it to be griefing?

It actually does have an effect, it makes them profitable to gank again! They are just so sad because they whined so hard to get CCP to kill the profession of ganking and they REALLY thought they'd won. Some angry venting is to be expected now that they realize they have to play EVE again.

So mining and building ships so you can blow them up isnt playing EVE, news to me?

So, going by all the replies thus far......merely existing in the game is an excuse for any pvp'er to put a bounty on you and that if they do u just have to live looking over your shoulder?
And when natur runs its course and everyone in EVE has a bounty on them ...what then? will CCP add another cool feature like....hmmm lets see transferable kill rights? or maybe get rid of the hi sec status of all the inner core worlds.....wouldnt all you pvp'er love that?

Oh stop throwing a tantrum, you are in a galaxy populated by moguls, gangland bosses, pirates and intergalactic buttholes. If you want to just sit uninterrupted watching numbers go up, may I suggest ones of those iphone games where you have to spend real money to buy currency and just watch your score skyrocket.

Tantrum? Numbers going up?.....buddy I aint a trader that never undocks from Jita, and I am not throwing a Tantrum, Im having a discussion regarding the pros and cons of the new mechanic and expressing my opinions, just like yourself so please ry and be civil about it.

You are throwing a tantrum. Take a few breaths, and then tell me how much this game ending bounty is for?

Didnt say it was game ending I just feel it needs a bit of fine tuning, maybe a pilots sec status should be taken into effect.

Why? It's not a legal mechanism, but a retributive mechanism. Players use it to punish players they feel go against them, whether that be in business, or in a social situation, or in how they play the game.

Was it 100k? The guy was giving you a wanted poster, nothing more. No one, and I mean no one, is going to gank you for 100k that wasn't going to do it anyways.

Unlike some people I have better things to do with my income other than annoying people with senseless bounty placement

Well, if they are senseless then what's the problem? Nothing has changed.

CCP don't want that to happen. This is something open to everyone from nasty evil pirates to that miner who had his rock mined out from under him.

You have the right to say whatever you would like.

Other people have the right to do whatever they would like in game as a response to that.

Your only rights are defined by your power to exercise them. Have fun!

No that means some one paid you 20 mil for having ideas, you just have to figure out how to cash in.
I already have.

OP is clearly a troll, which is why the OP has really bad typing and grammar and all his replies are similar to mine (i.e. properly written).

Maybe it was another miner looking to eliminate competition - that's what is great about the system - you can actually use it for a lot of different reasons.

I love how all these people are crying after the fact. They know enough to log into the forums to *****, but don't know how to check the dev blogs that are linked in the EVE login screen stating what will change months in advance.

Thanks again CCP for this latest patch. Maybe you can introduce some in game floaties or pool noodles so the rest of us don't drown in the tears.

I remember miners jumping for joy when the new bounty changes were announced. They were confident that it would mean an end to fun tactics that some use to interact with them. I also remember the miners refused to listen. :)

No, your rights end in optimal+2*falloff

Now all CCP has to do is introduce a mechanic for us to trace anonymous forum alts to their mains.
