lol keyboard media controls are for people that can't figure out how to program their dvd/blue ray players and just blink all the time. About as dumb as a rock propping open a door those keyboards are. A riot someone would even suggest that.

There was no reason to remove the jukebox, not for environment changes whatever. They already had music changes, would load that crappy music at certain gates, but you could open the jukebox and cancel it out by selecting something on the list. That surprise dubstep crap music or whatever it is, all friggen treble and raspy, off-fastbeat like you are about to get hit by a train but Arnold Schwarzenegger is seconds away from rescuing you along with the help of dark wing duck... as clowns throw confetti eggs in slow motion.

I'm in it for the money

Doesn't your keyboards have multimedia functions? That's like standard today. Use a REAL media player and if you want to cycle through your tracks, just use the damned keyboard.

it seems that certain persons are unable to understand the core of the problem Roll

Show me how can i select specific track with multimedia keyboard without alt-tabbing to desktop or long cycling track after track. Dynamic music is nice feature but thats no reason to remove jukebox. Dynamic music was here before the patch already.. If you entered through acceleration gate the music has changed. If you didnt like that music you just clicked jukebox and selected another track. Now you cannot do it.

Problem is, that there are many other useless "features" in eve that can be removed, but not jukebox. It was perfectly fine, flawless feature, that didnt need any upgrade or maintenance at all (as CCP is trying to sell it to us). Removal of Jukebox was illogical step.

I don't suppose we could get a word from a Dev at this point could we?
It would be nice to hear that there is a chance it would be brought back, or at least give the final word so we can move on and mourn the loss of a great feature. (Over the top?)

After years of playing wow and Eve, i always giggled how good job Eve developers were doing compared to Wow ones, but oh my god.

This must be THE worst thing that has ever happened in Eve, i didint even know this change was coming.

Why the **** would anyone remove function that works very very well, and everyone likes?

Im at loss of words...

Im a big ambient fan so I loved the jukebox and here are my thoughts on the changes

so far, I love the new music that plays in 0.0 but I feel it's too short, seems like its a 5 minute loop. If so, we are going from over an hour of music to a 5 minute loop which sucks. another thing is I feel the distance between too quite and too loud is too great. There are times I have to turn it up very loud to here the quite parts but then I get blown away when the loud part comes. may be a good idea to bring the two extremes closer together

now the music overall in 0.0 is pretty cool. love the haunting alien sounds Big smile but needs to be greatly expanded

I personally dont see the logic at all why CCP got rid of the jukebox, it fitted everyones need to not listen to the music at all, to people who liked just certain tracks, to people who like all of the music.. Taking away the music options completely was stupid, considering this was a client based feature not a server one, the thinking behind this is stupid... Having dynamic music doesn't work, just look at how Epic Games tried to do that with Unreal Tournament 3, all the music gets all broken up, choped into segments of whats happening in the gameplay instead of simply just playing a track...

ADD the jukebox back in....

doubt it, they knew some people would be upset and are prepared to be silent till it blows over, really only way to get them to respond is if goons decide they dont like it and flood the forums, seems the only way anything actually gets changed these days(good or bad)

Some times i used to fly round looking at the planets and all the other eye candy in EVE with my edited play list .Loved the ambient music selection and the immersion it gave me in EVE.Now they want to spoon feed it to me are make me alt and tab ever other minute Ugh

Liked all the changes they made in the patch the new ship and combat sounds are great but for me this has single handed ruined my short experience of EVE .Ambient music and space go hand in hand for me but now Big brother is telling me they know better they know what and when i should listen to the music in game

I prefered it with the Jukebox, but really there should be a soundtrack list for high sec, low sec, null sec, wormhole and all as it was previously.

I love some of the new soundtrack I haven't heard before, but its annoying not being able to switch to listen to it again.

I loved some of the epic music and I like playing EVE in full screen, its annoying going onto Soundcloud just to change music now.

Jukebox with modifications I listed to be back PLEASE. Sad

I ask that question my self to. Why do the remove something thats works..... The need to space to enter new codes? or the are making something new? Like a auto tune when you walk in a bar or all rpg have no radio. Auto radio controll. So is this removing the jukebox something to do with the WIS project? or is that a wild guess....

Shocked

OMGAWD,

I find myself in agreement with Lady Spank again. Gotta be due to the Doomsday date 12-21-12.

Blink

By the way, the Jukebox was an excellent option to have in game, especially for a change of mood when needed. There was no reason to remove it. Could have easily just incorporated / listed the new music settings into it.

As for the Eve Community being told about the removal before it was done, I didn't see it. Also not everyone logs into the test server.

The Jukebox was removed due to the implementation of the new dynamic music system that automatcially changes the selection of music based on what area of space you are in and sometimes what you are doing.

This selection may also end up being different depending on your race, but that is only a future possibility.

This new system appears set up differently from the old Jukebox, and when both were on the test server it caused some conflicts and confusion as both attempted to play all the time.

They don't play together nicely.

I go on the test server all the time, and even I found it gone only by accident. Things are not really properly announced even 'over there'.

TBH, I'm of the persuasion that does not care if the Jukebox does or does not survive.

What I do find wrong was the indeed sudden surprise removal for most players.

But then we had no say in the change to POCO's and PI Taxes awhile back, but that's a thread of a different color and place............

But then we screamed on the Sisi Forums about the horrific UI changes and were ignored.

So this I believe was an inevitable circumstance and reaction.

edit: I get the feeling more and more that nobody is really, really 'in charge' at CCP. Things seem more and more random. Just had to throw that in.

Wow, people are dumb. Is it so hard to just use a third party media player with an in-game overlay if you don't want to spam your media keys?

http://www.overwolf.com/Appstore/#appId=MusicPlayer

It even has a TS3 overlay that far surpasses the plug-in.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.
