Standings with 2 opposing factions?

Is it possible to get high standings with 2 opposing factions?

I.e. If I grind up standings with Gallente to say 5.0, is there a way to grind up my standings with Amarr or Caldari without wrecking that standing?

It seems like all the storyline missions raise standings with 2 factions and hurt standings with the other 2, so I'm trying to see if I'm missing something.

Yes it's possible, the social skill will increase standing gain without increasing the loss from the opposing faction. In this way completing a storyline mission will result in more gain than loss.

When attempting this it's important to avoid missions that pit you against the opposing faction, kills on their ships will result in some big hits to standing.

Thanks for the bump. Wow, that's like the very first rough draft of 'The Plan'.

Strange, I'd think Eve-Search would have the latest version of that instead of the earliest version.


Anyway, I have updated that original 'Plan' and added it to the Evelopedia.

As abovementioned posters mentioned, ye sit is possible.

It's a very tedious excercise though. It's mostly a "three steps forward, two steps back" method which can take a very long time. And in the meantime you can't do any faction missions, fortunately L4 missions hardly give any (compared to L3s).

Yeah sorry i was too lazy to get the updated version. I used the original plan a while back, and gave up because of how tidious it is. So i just said frack it, and now amaars are not my best friends to say the least :3

That being said, it' s a very good guide for those who have the motivation to repair their standings.

The lazy way to get positive standings with all NPC Empire alliances is to mission for each faction, but always decline any mission that involves shooting a faction (i.e., only take missions where you kill pirates/mercs/rogue drones/etc.).

Well if I stick to Distribution and Mining missions that shouldn't be a problem right?

Yeah, that'll be the slow way, 16 regular missions to get a storyline mission offer for Faction standing increase. Also you'll probably get a couple of anti-empire storyline missions being offered which should be declined or you'll end up doubling the negative standing hit..

Seriously, I've completed most of the 'Plan' and currently have almost all Empire Factions above +5.00 standing. Almost all Event Agents listed in the 'Plan' give Faction standing increase.
