Death eternal death. Most people never leave their world, of those most will never leave their continent and of those some will never leave their settlement.

Life a mad dash into the future. Time ticking away, capsuleers are trying to beat it. Stay ahead of time, cheat death a thousand times. Live life to the fullest, do more than any other has done. Beat time beat death, an eternity.

Life a flickering flame. Extinguished.

Death. Life's potential cut short.

Most people never accomplish much, live procreate, die.

All but few will deny it. Eternal life. Cheat death once, a great accomplishment. Everyone wants to live forever.
Few can cheat death even once.

Life's flickering flame, precious time. Eternity is forever, that's a long time.

Long ago, I spent some time studying under a Vherokior shaman. He was a master of the conventions of his tribe's shamanic tradition. But over years of doing his own explorations and discoveries, he had developed personal beliefs that were independent of the orthodox tradition. What he believed was: This lifetime is just a school or training ground. A setting filled with unlimited obstacles and opportunities for the mind and soul.

The individual can use this setting to train him/herself, continually overcoming, becoming stronger and wiser, with the goal of attaining ultimate mental perfection. Or the individual can do nothing, and just stay the same. Nothing is mandatory, and no trainer or teacher is provided. Though training and teaching can be accessed, if one seeks them.
