First off i am currently deployed to Afghanistan and have internet about as fast as bad dial up and will not always stay up... I have already tried to DL the expansion via launcher and tried to run the repair each time they fail, I have been searching for a torrent since it released and have not found one yet. As well as looked thru the forms for one, to no avail.

If any one has a link to a torrent for retribution or know where i can get one from, please pass on the info. would be very appreciated.
All I want to do is be able to log in and que up skills...

Not sure if this will help but sometimes I am travelling and can't be online for the full download and I had a similar problem with patches and all that for many games.

I went to a free download manager for this, it does everything I need in the US, now sure if it works in Afganistan but give it a look.

LINK:
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/index.htm
I found it very useful since 2010 and haven't had any issues with it. It just keeps DLing each time it has an uplink until it's all done, and very good UI, hope that is what your looking for, it has a Torrent Feature in there also, and alot more.

Best luck, from a US Army Vet, 2/64th AR, 3ID - Rouge Battalion, Marne Div.

Don't have an answer for you, but the launcher will auto resume broken downloads and the CDN's bandwidth is good. I don't see why you should be having issues with it even on a slow line.
Patch size if 1.5GB, it'll take hours/days. Don't bother with repair before patching, data payload is unoptimized/uncompressed and larger.

I too would like to get some info on this. The Internet at my workplace is iffy at best. I tried it yesterday and got to 500-ish gb and the line have up. Today, it didn't auto-resume. Any sort of help would be appreciated.

p.s Does a download manager resume Eve client downloads?

Check this thread - https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=92005&p=19
Looks like they may have a zipped version that you can DL with any third-party downloader.

They need to fix the launcher to be more robust.
Best I've seen are WoT (World of Tanks) DL scheme ... simple custom torrent, effective.

sorry I should have posted the link to the offline download link.

Go Here:
http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1&

Use the Free Download Manager to do this, but just right click on it [once that is installed] and you will have the choices on the menu to download it, use the last of the 4 FDM options for each and it will download them a bit at a time until you have each one, then do the same for the patch, then you have a backup install of the latest version and the patch if you need it on your HD and no worries, I keep the newest of each on my HD both for backup and also for test server installations.

Thanks for your help,

I am in the same situation as the OP and your suggestion really worked well for me!

Might be old fashioned, but you could have somebody state-side download and burn you a copy of the offline installer onto a DVD and mail it to your APO.

If I recall Chribba used to seed the clients via torrent.... might send him a mail to see if he (or someone else) does it.

Oh, and if you're deployed overseas, dontcha have better things to do than play vidya games? Blink

I've created a torrent and will be seeding it on DHT and two trackers. My upload speed is anywhere from 2MBps to 100k, depending upon a variety of things.

The Pirate Bay removed the torrent, for whatever reason.

Primary Torrent Link: https://kat.ph/eve-online-retribution-offline-installer-t6983754.html

Secondary Torrent Link: http://ge.tt/578w7HV/v/0?c

Magnet Link: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:CF35B8326420FAF622787775774BC726EF6B8011&dn=EVE+Online+-+Retribution+Offline+Installer&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%3A80

A magnet link is a way to share torrents without requiring a file. The above link provides the hash of the file(what it contains), the name, and the 2 trackers that are coordinating all of us. Nearly all torrent client support it.

Torrent Information:
Quote:
-=EVE Online: Retribution (offline installer)

Obtained from: http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1&

-=Files and MD5 hashes=-

EVE_Online_Installer_467201.exe - 4F9C6F1FB8BDC4100C243E7EF136A9AF

eveonline_467201_1of2.7z - 05659EEF4B51E5F06E9D732E8D7000E6

eveonline_467201_2of2.7z - 2A12222536DC765B70C9D93C3CB7EE6D

-=Instructions=-

1. Keep all three files in the same folder as one another
2. Run EVE_Online_Installer_467201.exe
3. Cheers

If you're uncomfortable using the included binary, you're more than welcome to redownload it from the website linked above. The .7z files are the core game files while the .exe is just the EVE installer.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE o7

I've noticed a number of people downloading the client from me, and that's perfectly fine. But if you're looking to help our fellow EVE pilot out by seeding I recommend the following, faster method since CCP's bandwidth is significantly more than my own.

  1. Download my created torrent file and run it in your chosen torrent client.

  2. After it has had a few minutes to start, stop the download

  3. Download all three files from here to the EVE Online - Retribution Offline Installer directory created by the torrent.

  4. Overwrite all the things.

  5. Force your torrent client to Recheck the data. uTorrent does this by Right-clicking the torrent, and Force Re-Check.

  6. It'll confirm a 100% file and once started again you can properly seed.

I feel claustrophobic just reading this thread

I was in afghanistan 05-06, and iraq to shut the party down in '11

I know what you're thinking--snail mail disks would continually arrive at least one patch behind, and therefore ineffective.

good luck, stay safe.

gents i will be participating in this torrent as well. i'm on a beefy fiber optic line; speeds will be limited at your end.

//edit: now seeding.

MOS 99Z, there's about 8 seeders at the time of writing this. Once you've managed to download the file please post here and let us know.

I think I have some issues with getting a clear upload through

I'm running a couple torrents besides this one, and I'm able to upload at 3-4MB/s on the others

the EVE torrent is trickling at zero to maybe 24kb/s... I've uploaded only 4.4GB so far.

suggestions? I'm using Utorrent 3.2
