WHY??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It was obviously an outdated feature and there was a huge number of people complaining and asking that Jukebox be removed from the game. Roll

Seriously though, I miss it too.

I support the op. jukebox needed now. Eve music has always been awesome to me. But part of that awesomeness was the ability to change to a different tract. Bring it back. Add more awesome music to existing and leave alone!

The new changes are better. If you want the old jukebox, download the songs and have them play in the background.

Not that bothered myself, but I don't see the logic in removing functionality that was working just fine, why was it taken out?

Clutter.

Go read the devblog about it for more official information: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=73569

They got this all wrong CCP they want to control the music you hear in game all the time.Tailoring your music in game was a vital part of this game to me .Now they are trying to tell me they know better and if i want control well bad luck plenty music on the web sort it out your self and run another programme in the background, Sorry i just don't want to do this i want what i payed for which was in game control of the music .

Quote their blog

Most music is available in one way or another online today, and we feel that the music of EVE deserves to be heard! What this means as well, is that you will still be able to create your own playlists and order music in the sequence you want it to be heard, because the in game jukebox is going away... Quote

Well plenty other games available online today as well i will take my money their .They are just telling you to Sort your own music out now as they cant be bothered with it anymore.Am i getting reduction in fees for this cost saving ?? NO

Any way my 3 months almost up i wont renew and wont put another dime in to this game until they change their attitude on this one .Yes great job CCP sort it out your self plenty stuff on the web for you we cant be arsed anymore but we still take your money Thank you
You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist

It's not even close to a good reason to cancel your sub, it's an inconvenience that's all. Granted I want it back badly (very badly indeed).

So tell me, how hard would it be to put it back while using an option to activate the new background music as well as the old jukebox?

CCP's sound clould link with all the tracks. Just have it running in firefox in the background. This game can run on a feckin' 56k modem if needed (hell its a 10 year old game after all :P) so a lil bit of background streaming literally has zero impact.

Job done. Added bonus points for creating your own playlist with the eve tracks and some classy other musics.

I lied :o

So instead of playing and changing music directly ingame, we have to alt tabbing from and to game? Wow, what an improvement!!!

All we asking for is option/checkbox to enable/disable jukebox. There is no need to disable dynamic music. We just want jukebox back with playlist option. Why shouldnt i be able to listening "where evil lurks" while i am in hisec?Roll

Nope. Rip the songs from song cloud and make your own Media Playlist if you want a jukebox. The new changes are better.

Better than what? I already said this is like that blasted door, they have removed a feature, not altered, not refined, removed. And it has been replaced by something which we have no control over but to turn it off again.

do not understand why CCP would just flat out remove something thats been in the game over 10 years, seriously its not like a media player requires much upkeep, why should i be forced to run a program in the background when we already had the exact same thing in game working fine for over 10 years

bring back the jukebox

They have taken away my jukebox that has exsisted longer then 99% of the employees at CCP with... no respect and did it litely... Why are you even restricting UI to the extent you guys are(Log display looks like a WoW UI addon)? They give us changes no one asks for... skinnier health bars and longer? because they where to short? or wide? no option to control or even classic? aparently a forum team changes forums, and art team changes ship models that arent bad... and we got the team supposed to be working on broken POS's EST 2006 playing with ship corp hangers... just STOP... STOP we dont need new things anymore.... or to fix stuff no one complained about.... spend the mann hours fixing the long list of To DO's that have been there for a long time... i know you like new projects but you dont finish them (avatar's?)..

This is your legacy with EVE... are you really improving the game for your players? that should be the only question... it was what got EVE from just frigs and cruisers... to what it is now...

I would like the jukebox back. I like listening to the intro screen music, but generally turn off the rest of the music. Occasionally I'll play something like ghosts, merchants and miners (or whatever that track is called).

I want the jukebox back!

So I guess this means no more playing Alienhand through jukebox.

Running another program in the background seems counter productive, it also uses up CPU(more so then the increase of the Eve Client with the feature), and having to move or alt tab in order to switch music can be annoying at times.

Not a huge disappointing change, but disappointing non the less.

I don't want the client/dynamic environment to control the music, I want to control the music through the client. Now I just turn the client music off all together... Sad what a waste. I have my own music that I produced, lots of tracks, and I had them loaded into the client jukebox, all organized, been there for couple years while adding new songs to my folders. Now I gotta turn off the client music, minimize the client and fool with my player apps to play my music. It's stupid P

I'm in it for the money

Doesn't your keyboards have multimedia functions? That's like standard today. Use a REAL media player and if you want to cycle through your tracks, just use the damned keyboard.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Yes because hitting next 50 times to get to the song you want, compared to selecting one from a list is a step up.
