If I want to fight someone in Hi-Sec is that now not possible without being open to being fired upon by anyone?

I mean I guess you can go a few jumps out and steal from a can like normal, but why would they release the expansion without a way to get legit hi sec fights? Hi sec duals are fun, I mean not as fun as real pvp, but still.

You can both fly somewhere where there is just the two of you, like a safespot. Of course there is still the chance that whoever gets the suspect flag will find his opponent cheats by calling in help.

When you leave Jita 4-4 you'll find about a billion empty places to 1v1 in. Just sayin'.

Actually, a quick check in the Eve Data dump tells me there are 7928 systems other than Jita, much less than one billion. Just sayin'.

All part of the plan. High-sec don't need no fightin'.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Just join a fleet with whoever you're fighting.

You can't legally attack fleet members.

Because you can totally attack people if they're in your fleet.

Hmm, I was not aware of that change.

Well, aside from going to a unpopulated system, do it in a safespot. Just in case. That's probably as protected as you'll get.

It's not a change; it was always like this.

Must be corp mates i'm thinking of? Can remember trading fire with people in fleets before with no strings attached in hisec, with no need for cans.

Correct, you can always shoot your corporation members legally.

Though I don't imagine it will stay this way for long, since it's one of the few remaining ways to legitimately kill people in high-sec. Now that other means have been taken away or nerfed into oblivion, it's likely to become the next go-to strategy, and will probably follow in the footsteps of ganking, wars, and can-flipping.

lol, new players should have no protection. In fact, it should be encouraged to gank them. Just make sure that they know what is happening when their ship explodes.
