While I don't care if you don't like my program. You should refrain from dissing other people's hard work.

I don't care how hard people work on stuff - I'm sure people worked REALLY hard on the Hindenburg. But that was a disaster too. If it's poor quality, then why should I NOT diss it? It should motivate the hard-worker to do a better job next time. To avoid getting dissed.... or blowing up airships.

OR maybe he should start charging for it so cheap bastards like you don't use it anymore.

PYFA is awesome, as EFT is. They're unique in their own ways and people prefer one or the other. No need to diss the work of others just because YOU don't like it. You're acting like a child and an ungrateful one that is.

As EFT is falling behind (i'm not complaining) if anyone has any clues as to how you get PYFA working on Windows i'm all ears...

Literally spent an hour trying to figure out how to get that piece of crap to work, and I am very tech savvy. Literally cannot understand how to get any of it to work.

It installed and ran straight out of the box for me, personally I'm still a fan of EFT mostly because of its awesome dps graph capabilities which are unmatched by the other fitting programs. I have this feeling that people like Pyfa because of :pretty colours: and a "look at me stating that EFT is inaccurate, making me sound like i know wtf I'm talking about".

EFT ftw, I'll happily wait a bit till Gripen found the time to update it.

That's assuming I'm cheap, of course.

You had trouble extracting tar.bz2 archive or locating pyfa.exe in the folder? Maybe you one of those windows explorer users (yuck..) who still have their file extensions turned off?
" Tech savvy" right.. Twisted

On the other hand Pyfa can be more friendly to users like this. World wont collapse if devs clean up pyfa root folder and make simple installer with shortcut for dummies.

If you're very tech savvy, then surely you have the free 7z downloaded and installed, and know it will open it up a .bz2 with no problem. You should have already extracted it to your desktop or somewhere, have a shortcut to pyfa.exe, and you're just trolling.

Pyfa is nice. Target painters aren't taken into account in the damage graphs which is annoying. Otherwise I have few complaints so far.

Missing combat drones can be another one. Dev must be taking GD's "droneboats are dead" trend too seriously or something Big smile

Anyways, waiting for EFT update, good luck with that!

Gripen is da bawz.

If you disagree you're, crazy.

Patiently [grieving] waiting for the update.

All that moves is easilly heard in the void.

I noticed it was also missing all the prop modules, so I deleted it and then had nothing so re-downloaded it again as it is an acceptable alternative to a lack of EFT for now... until EFT is updated, of course. But it seems they have fixed the missing drones issue and all the prop modules are back in.

It's funny really, at 34 i'm far too old to be playing games really, and you'd have thought i'd have learnt by now, but something that (for some reason) keeps surprising me is how many idiots hang around forums...

I can't vouch for the chap who states he's "tech savvy" obviously, but i was a Systems Engineer for 8 years, and i've been a C# developer for the last 6 years, and it wasn't working for me.

That said, after making that post last night I jumped on IRC on the Eve Fit website (which admitedly i should have just done first) and the author (who appears to be more active/available than Mr Gripen is atm) talked me through several checks before it was decided the download must have been corrupt.
I downloaded again, extracted, and it's working perfectly.
The both of us managed this without any sarcastic remarks or bitching at each other because we're on the net and aren't at risk of getting a knuckle sandwich... I know, it must seem amazing to some of you "helpful" people out there, but it seems it is possible.

On a side note, and in response to some of the other comments on this thread, EFT is definitely an amazing app and has been spot on for years, but if it's not kept up to date (which is entirely the author's perogative) then there's not an awful lot of point in using it, and the chap who's written PYFA seems to be doing a good job of trying to fill that void.

Also, by the looks of it PYFA is taking massive leaps forward every day, and the more people that use it and provide feedback the better it'll obviously get.
Every app has bugs, you can only plan for so much, and testing takes care of the rest.

I'd also be more inclined to donate billions to someone who's actively developing an app for everyone's use rather than someone who might well be losing interest in his creation and/or possibly Eve in general...
He certainly doesn't seem to be bothered enough to even comment on this thread and let the community using his app know what's happening (which again is entirely up to him).

Retribution version is ready.

For those who have problems with empty ship bonuses and missing skills hint popups: if new version won't fix it for you, launch EFT with /OldHints switch.

overload the rep and the timer shows around 4m30s.
then, go and also overload all the high slots and look at the timer on the repper. it goes UP to around 5m30s.

Guns will get more damage from the overheating, go offline faster than repairer and will work as a heatsinks effectively increasing time repairer will be able to run in overheated mode.

Gripen - I was wondering if there are any plans to add a "meta" attribute to the tool so that modules can be sorted by meta level and/or have the meta level displayed as a variable in the show info panel.

This is often requested but I can't understand why. Modules in EFT are sorted by meta level by default and I don't want to add additional data without serious reason. One thing might not be very clear but if you change default sorting by clicking Name, CPU of PG column header, to revert it back to default sorting you need to click that column header again.
