Patch failed = EVE.exe shortcut broken. (Ret patch 1.0.1)

So after patching the game Tuesday i figured a hottix was inbound for some issues. Hotfix arrives today, I attempt to patch. THe patch fails (unspecified reason, will check logs shortly) attempting to restart the client via desktop shortcut results in Windows being unable to locate the shortcut target (File has been moved or renamed) Going to checka few possible solution threads now in hopes of finding an answer.
