Hmmm! I was always confused about the way CCP used BCs in EVE. I was under the impression that a BC is SUPPOSED to have the same fire power as a BS with less defences and higher maneuverability. I am not sure how this will change the game at all since I am new and have no idea how this will change the game at all, but its fun knowing there will be a BC that fits the role I expected them to fit when I started playing!

As one who has experimented with various funny fits, it takes up a lot of PG to fit BS weaponry on a BC. How much? I once put a cruise missile bay into a Cyclone and that took PG upgrade in the lows and there was little else left high-slot wise.

Not a workable fit but it was funny. That's the idea.

Now a BS-sized weapon on a BC?

This is going to be good.

Let's think about this:

1. A BC that can go into most wormholes (depending on the armor or shield modules - hate finding that out that the wrong time) and deal more damage to sleepers. I don't think that this will make BCs able to solo wormhole Classes higher than 1 to 3 (T2 BCs can do 4 and I have heard 5 solo) but will make it much easier.
2. A Tier 3 BC will not be able to rat in 0.0 much more effectively.
4. If you have the skills to solo a level 4 in a Drake or Myrm, imagine what you can do with a Tier 3?


What I am hoping for are two things:

1. That the weapons capability is not specific to a weapons bonus, leaving those of us who want more tank than spank - or more afterburner - with the extra power to do it.
2. That this also means BS-sized missile bays.

Nawwwww.... nano-pests will still have the better tank... might even see some pests with tornados/hurricanes/macharials etc... as a nano fleet... I love this idea so much... it owns.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think that CCP intents them to be specialist PVP BC.

This means they will likely have less tank then tier 1 BC. I also expect them to not have drone bays so that they are more vulnerable to frigates. Combined with the fact that large weapons are less effective against small ships, will make these tier 3 BC unsuitable for PVE.

You all relizedd that this new BC is just a bigger version of a SB sort of speaking in terms of weapon fitting.

So all your idea/argument of how its not working or problems are invalid.
