Drones Targeted Alert

I like the new AI that drops Argo off the player and switches to the drones. But recently I have no idea that argo has been lost until a drone gets almost install popped.

I was thinking that maybe the drone could some how report that it has been targeted. Maybe a flashing red back ground behind the drone that is targeted in the drones window.

I think this has been suggested before along with many other Drone UI changes.

Still a good idea though.

I agree with the general idea and have a few different proposals for how to do this.

1. Make the drone window use the same graphical feedback as you get in the overview when you are locking a target. This way it's easy to see which drones are being targeted, and you have time to react before they are webbed / short-pointed / dead. The downside is that this tells you nothing about what ships are targeting which drones.

2. Add a mouse-over tool-tip for targeted drones, so that informatin on the targeting ships are shown. If it's also possible to use this popup information to both lock on those ships if you have no lock, and set active target if you do have a lock, then you have all the information you need to take appropriate action.

3. Add a sound notification for when someone starts locking on drones.

4. Add a sound notification for when drones take damage. A bit trickier than the previous notification since you don't want sound on every hit. Perhaps do it for the first time they take damage after being launched. Or the first time they take damage in every 5 minute window.

5. Add a sound notification when shield is gone.

Some drones have so little shield it might be too many beeping noises with all three sound notifications, but if you add these as toggle options to the drone interface window that should be no problem.

I'd just be happy if drones on your list blinked red when taking damage, like with fleet members on the watchlist.
