D-Scan Wrecks

Has anyone tried or has actually salvaged the wrecks that appear on a 360 degree scan?

I know that I'd need a few combat probes to find them, but before I go looking, I was wondering if anyone else has tried this?

Combat probes won't work, you can't scan down wrecks with them.

Your options are:
a) Scan down the player (or his drones) while he's making the wrecks
b) Using d-scan and a very very fast ship, and a lot of fancy d-scan work to narrow down the angles

You can't probe down wrecks with combat probes (or any other probes for that matter), so unless they're in an exploration site that you can probe down, or there's a ship in the mission where the wrecks are that you can probe down and bookmark, you won't be able to get a warp-in point.

Thanks for the info.

Whenever I do a d-scan, the wrecks are always out of range of the scanner.

I guess that I'll have to warp to the sun of the system and use the angles to find their general direction.

Even then I can't warp to them, so I'll have to fly there which could take forever if they are au's away.

I think I'll stick to exploring magneto sites.

tested this idea once and found its highly unlikely you'll make more at it than you could make mining veld in a noobship unless you turn to scanning down the ships creating the wrecks.

you used to be abel to scan wreaks down for all of 2 days before there was so many dead mission runners that ccp removed this feature
