What is air doing in my station? My ship is corroding in the air!

Nooooooo it can't be not real!

Who said that's tritanium that's in contact with the air?

An array of Devices(TM) keeps all currently docked ships in a suspended vacuum.
The CQ balcony and hangar are separated with Jovian manufactured "Nanite Plot Devices" which prevent the CQ's artificial atmosphere from leaking into the hangar.

Yup, given that the air we breathe is mostly (about 78%) nitrogen.

Oxygen is also explosive, that's why we used it as fuel for launching the space shuttle Big smile

I do enjoy breathing my 78% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, 0.93% argon and 0.033% Carbon Dioxide air

Wrong. 100% oxygen is used in the treatment of decompression sickness. And in hyperbaric medicne.

A) light a match in a 100% O2 atmosphere. call me back if you survive.

B) oxygen is highly destructive. Did you know that getting old is actually your body being oxidized? Also tetanus infection is only poisonous because of the oxygen that exists on the atmosphere.

Oh man, you're drawing out the science geek....

Atmospheric temperature has nothing to do with "air". In fact its a very vague way to define a temperature. The atmospheric temperature on Earth is very different from the atmospheric temperature on Jupiter or Venus. (Granted they were referring to human habitats though, so apparently tritanium is unstable at "room temperature")

Also, it's only your raw stockpiles of trit sitting in your hangar that should decay. Most of the trit in ships or structures is compounded with other materials to form the alloyed tritanium bars or metal scraps. :)

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

So, you mean, all our ships are like either super hot or super chilled? Cool

A) I didn't said oxygen is not highly flammable.

B) All true, but irrelevant to what i said.

I quoted a man who said that oxygen is poisonous, and i corrected him.

Tritanium is the hull, not the exterior, it is protected from air.

If they can have every ship protected by an invisible force field (shield) that deflects everything from EM to nuclear explosions, they can damn well have an invisible force field that keeps the atmosphere in the station from venting into the hanger facilities.
