Although I've not been playing long, the music is (was?) one of the best things about EvE. It adds so much to the atmosphere and I really enjoy it. The combat music is, however, something completely different and it doesn't matter what's attacking me, I have to get rid of it immediately. That wasn't difficult with the Jukebox but how will it work now? I hope it doesn't end up like in so many other games that I have to turn off all the music because there's no way to get rid of the combat music.

Music is sound. Does Eve have that?!?!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Please CCP... Put it back I beg you, don't make me use windows media player its so inconvenient when I'm doing stuff in eve.
Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase put it back, there was no reason to get rid of it.
Its like when you forced us to stare at that horrible door for months. We all loved the ship spinning even if it is useless.
It is one of those little things that made eve feel just that bit more friendly.

No.

The new changes are better. If you want the old jukebox, download the songs and have them play in the background.

Also, they stated that it was going to be removed. Please voice your opinions BEFORE changes are made in the Test server feedback area

Either stream them or use a simple music player on your computer. Most people don't use windows media player, so you'll have tons of quality alternatives to choose from.

I don't care about the game sound tracks I just want to be able to cycle through my songs while in fleet without having to bring up other distracting windows, just that tiny little bar with play and skip on it. :(
It's not much to ask.

Not that bothered myself, but I don't see the logic in removing functionality that was working just fine, why was it taken out?

Just three months in to this game and its been hard work to learn but enjoyed most of it .Now i find i have to spend even more effort and time to set up music for the game.I cant believe they removed a feature from the game all because of driver updates and resources.

I cant stand the default action music but i like most of the other tracks .I set up my custom play list and was quite happy with that was just using the default tracks and removing the ones i did not like.I Like the other updates but the jukebox removal has really annoyed me ,I don't expect user friendly features to be removed from a game that i would pay over a 120 euro a year to play.

So on top of the massive learning curve i now have to spend my time finding and creating a music play list that i like .Seems the Dev's assume all there player are music savy with MP3 play list in there back pockets and knowledge of how to get all the music free and set it up .All I wanted to do was remove some of the default tracks from the play list now that option is gone for me it seems.Just making things harder for new players .

My 3 months is almost up unless a new in game feature for music appears i doubt i will renew.Having the control over the play list was a key feature ti my enjoyment and immersion in Eve .Its a slippery slope when Dev's start removing user friendly features to save cost.

It was removed because a new dynamic music system was put in place that changes the music depending on the area you are in and what you are doing. It had nothing to do with cost.

If you can't figure out how to use (at the very least) Windows Media player, or the link so kindly provided above to stream it, you probably should find a simpler game to play.

This is possibly the most ridiculous reason I have seen to date for threatening to cancel an account.

And i agree with you both.

I love the music of this game, and now i'm using soundcloud, but i don't understand why did they remove the jukebox if it was working fine.

You miss the whole point of course we can use windows media player but why on earth should i ???, i had a good function just removed for no good reason . Why should i have to mess on with windows media player every time i want to change music in game. And who on are you to say what is and is not a good reason for a a person to not feel like renewing?? .

I am not going to mess on with sound outside of the game simple fact. And reason i will cancel is greed and assumptions that devs are showing with this move.Pay over a 100 euro a year have features removed that i enjoyed NO thanks. So if some one saying they might not renew because a in game feature is removed is the most ridiculous reason you have seen to date for threatening to cancel an account then your head must have been buried in the sand .In fact Ranger 1 your whole reply smells of childish sarcasm and the very reason i avoid these kind forums )

WHY!!!!!!

You ****** up ccp, you don't realize how immersive it was to have my favorite music load up with your game. there was nothing like logging in and having my playlist start rolling out with the game. further more you've made it inconvenient to manage my audio while i playing your game (that i do pay you to have interesting content for), not only do i have to eq my audio player with my eve now, i have to go outside eve to decrease the volume of my music to hear **** going on in the game, (was a nice feature to turn it down some times to hear the game)

I didn't care the player was broken and slow, it worked. it did everything i needed it too. it made my gaming experience better, and i found it highly unique the way it functioned inside the game (except for reseting every time i used a jump gate)

Give it back (and fix the functionality if you can)

So instead of playing and changing music directly ingame, we have to alt tabbing from and to game? Wow, what an improvement!!!

All we asking for is option/checkbox to enable/disable jukebox. There is no need to disable dynamic music. We just want jukebox back with playlist option. Why shouldnt i be able to listening "where evil lurks" while i am in hisec?Roll

They had both systems on the test server for awhile, they were not very compatible and it ended up most of the time you ended up hearing a jumble of different songs.

You can ask, but I doubt anyone is going to sit down and hand hold you through an explanation of the technical issues involved.

I think most people, given the choice, would vastly prefer a dynamic music system rather than a simple Jukebox that can be easily replaced with dozens of customizable players.

You can assume whatever you like jr... I'm not the one defeated by an MP3 player. Smile
You do realize that many of them are tiny, can be set to be "Always on top", and moved anywhere on your screen right?

The reasons have been given from both a technical and a game play point of view. Your problem is you don't understand either one, and frankly there isn't much anyone can do for you on that point.

If this simple change causes you enough nerd rage to threaten to quit, what are you going to do when they change their log in procedure, or remove some other bit of minor functionality in order to make larger improvements in other area's.

First world problems. Big smileBig smileBig smile

They got rid of the jukebox? O.o

That's one of the few things I still liked, flipping through the various songs in-game.
