I need some tips into getting into logistics/RR
My character has around 18 milSP http://eveboard.com/pilot/sarpy_aranori

What would I need to train to get into Logistics? As it really is the closest thing to Healing on EVE.

Hey Sarpy,

There are 4 major logistics ships in EVE that are the sub-capital class these are Tech 2 ships but they do have Tech 1 variations as well and with retribution new logistic frigates too. I would say that you should strive to move upwards to these ships. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Item_Database:Ships:Cruisers:Advanced_Cruisers:Logistics

I would look at the certificates also for each of the ships as they will give you a general guide in what specific skills you need tor them. One skill that most logistic pilots will tell you is a must is the Spaceship Command Logistics V.

Some other skills that you might want are Shield Emission Systems, Remote Armor Repair, Repair drones, things that increase your capacitor better(energy), Shield and armor tanking skills(armor/shield Em/Therm/Kin/Explosive comps) those are just some things for starters. The Certificates can give you a better guideline then this but if you want to be a strong logistics pilot this is a good start. I'm sure some others can add some additional skills i'm not an expert in Logistics so I only really know the basics.

Lucky for you they just lowered the barrier of entry to this field from a 200 foot wall to a single decent jump over a hurdle.

Look into the Bantam, Burst, Scythe, and Osprey.

Latter on you'll want a Scimitar or Basilisk.. When working with the T2 logi having logi 5 is pretty much a MUST but it is at least doable with logi 4 and some good cap skills.

The Caldari and Amarr logi ships have a tendency of needing a cap buddy, so a common fit is 4/2 repper to cap transfer. The Gallente and Minmatar however are able to run solo and have better mobility but less tank. They will also likely need cap rechargers or similar taking up valuable fitting slots, and when working with L5 the Amarr and Caldari one can run a 5/1 setup, thus being able to have a greater rep amount than the Minmatar or Gallente one.

Here is my advice t practice:
- Get into something kinda big like a BS or BC
- Load it up with large reppers (of the type you'll be using)
- Fit the rest of the ship out with cap rechargers and such like crazy (note that the shield penalty of cap relays dont effect RR) and make sure it's stable
- Launch 5 light drones
- Have a corp mate start shooting your drones with a frigate (Has to be a corp mate to allow open combat with out concord)
- Have fun trying to keep them alive

And that's pretty much how you practice, have the corp mate do his best to kill the drones, switch targets often, split damage between targets, etc.

Athechu has good info, but the changes here with Retribution should be noted. There are now 4 logistics frigates and 4 logistics cruisers (T1) which are very viable, on top of the 4 T2 Logistics ships. You should start with the T1 hulls so you can make your mistakes without losing 200 million ISK every time.

  • Amarr: Inquisitor (frigate), Augoror (cruiser)
  • Minmatar: Burst (frigate), Scythe (cruiser)
  • Gallente: Navitas (frigate), Exequror (cruiser)
  • Caldari: Bantam (frigate), Osprey (cruiser)

If you want to be a healer in Eve you need to go to where goons are and make every non goon in the area feel better about there being goons in the area

Get remote Armor repair to at least 4

Get Amarr or Gallente Cruisers to 4, then eventually to 5.

Get Minmatar or Caldari Cruisers to 4, then eventually to 5.

Congratulations, you now have all the (sp-wise) skills needed to operate logistics ships at the T1 level. For the T2 level, do the obvious and train the "Logistics" skill to at least 4, eventually 5.

The ship bonuses to look for are "remote (type) repairer range" and similar when you're picking a ship to use.

Was just playing with the T1 logistics cruisers today (Osprey, Auguror, etc). They are very, very nice and very, very cost effective. 3 logi cruisers kept a Ferox alive against quite a bit of DPS (a Tornado, an Oracle and a battleship). Of course the ferox had to overheat, but he lived.

The good thing about the T1 logi cruisers is the minimal skill requirements to fly one. So if you like logi, this is what you want.
