i was wondering, if i cancel a build of an item in a hi sec npc station do i get all my minerals and BPO back immediately minus the original construction costs to install the BPO or do i have to wait for the timer to run out and then collect the BPO and minerals?

When canceling a job, you get the materials back instantly. The slot will still be unusable until the original job's timer runs out.

Edit
Nope, I was wrong. See below.

You do get your bpo back immediatly, but your materials are lost! (and as said, installation remains in use)

As above.

When using a BPC you only get it back if it has runs remaining AFTER the aborted amount are deducted.

i.e. cancelling manufacturing, invention, or reverse engineering jobs is a bad idea.
