Questions about Salvage drones and their operation

Looked back through the forums but didn’t find anything relevant
Unfortunately this is the worst bug report ever written, but really didn’t expect to be writing on this particular matter.

A week ago I was trying out the Salvage drones and I was rather amazed at the efficiency of letting them go and they cleaned up a field all by themselves. Today I log in to show them off to a friend and they have to be assigned to each wreck individually and wont activate on a wreck without a right click ‘salvage’.

So my question is: Are they working as intended now or were they working as intended last week?

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

They have to be sent manually to wrecks you don't own. They will auto salvage all white and blue wrecks

Did anyone try the salvage drones AI, range wise?
If i pull 10 wrecks close to noctis, and a few stay at 40-50km, will they primarily salvage close ones till they run out, or will they pull a CCP AI and go and salvage a 50km away wreck for reasons only known to god.

I was aware of the white or blue wrecks requirement. All the wrecks were white but only half of them were made by the ship that launched the drones. I will try it out with blue’ing the wrecks in the game when I get done updating.

In answer to the range, all the wrecks in my test were within 25km of the ship the drones originated from. So the range is still a mystery to me.
