L4 mission and agents change

Hi,

I've been RvB'ing for a while and need to make some ISK to rebuild the coffers a little.

I know there were some changes to the skills associated with missions and changes to how agents work.

Assuming I need to train some additional skills, what changes should I be looking for in my agents? Can I just go back to my old L20 agent or should I be doing something else now.

I have tried looking this up, but to be honest, I'm not really sure 'what' I should be looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Agent quality has been removed, so now the only thing that changes payout are skills (new ones: Distribution, Mining, and Security Connections; check and see if you were granted any books) and sec status of the agent system. Most likely, going back to your old agent won't be ideal (but it would still work). The new "best" L4 agents are in .5 systems without low sec in constellation.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm assuming, in that case, that most decent L20 agents located in 0.5 are going to be jammed with other missoners? And again, making the assumption that I will be pushed into 0.4 because of that?

Also....

I have excellent missile skills and am max trained in a Tengu. Are L4 missions the best source of income for me?

There's an assumption currently at work (though sometimes challenged) that agents won't send you out of constellation for kill missions, which is why you want to look for an agent in a constellation without low sec. There's a neat list here.

Given how much the LP market sucks right now? Quite possibly not. Personally I'd go for exploration over missions under those circumstances, though it doesn't provide reliable cash flow. Paydays are big though. How are your probing skills?

Covops 5 , astrometrics 4 and then L3 supports.

Are you refering to exploration where I just find stuff or where I get to destroy things?

Geez.... I have so much to learn about the PvE aspect of this game - please be gentle....

There are many different sites you can find while scanning, even some mining sites. Combat sites have the most lucrative reward though, in the form of faction and dedspace modules.

Exploration guide

Here's a guide with info you can comb through.

"Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not." - Citan Uzuki, Xenogears

I followed that guide and tried some of the agents listed. Sad to say that the assumption that agents won't send you out of constellation for kill missions is false.
Been running the agents in Torrinos and at times they've offered missions in EC-P8R. Which is the system next to Torrinos but a different region / constellation.
If you want to avoid being sent to low sec / null sec often then its far better to find a 0.5 (or even a 0.6) system without nearby low sec for 2/3 jumps.

I probably should have mentioned that I don't buy a word of it either, having had more or less the same experience. It seems to me that agents send you across constellation borders with less frequency -- but I haven't (and likely won't) run any numbers on it.
