Corax? Thorax? Really??

Really CCP?
I can't believe NO ONE pointed out they sounded really similar, specially on comms with 20 different guys with 20 different accents.

Since I am guessing changing the name is not going to happen now that is set in stone, I'll give you a couple of suggestions for any new ships down the line:

Raven - Maven
Ares - Arix
Helios - Hedious

Evil
Rath Kelbore
Caldari Provisions
Caldari State

Talos. Corax. TAH-los. Coh-RAX. That's very easily distinguishable.

Ares/Eris has gotten me in the past, though.

Ed: nice going, OP, changing Talos->Thorax. Still, enunciate the hard C of the Corax.

REAL fleet problems is when the one (cute loveable) native german speaker jumps into the wrong system and asks where the fleet is 5 mins later

Get better comms.
Pay attention.
Organise a way of differentiating on voice such as 'Corax Destroyer' and 'Thorax' or some other designation.
Or moan on a forum about a minor detail in the naming of pixels in a video game.

Especially when you throw an FC in who's first language isn't English. Very easy to get commands confused.

Erm.... If your scouting you should know what to point and what not... In Eve there is not always time to Ask your FC what to do... Sometime you just have to react.

I find "primary is D E T H" (pronouncing each of the first 3-4 letters) to be a much less ambiguous way to do it, but whatever floats your boat (and sinks the enemy's).

it's a stealth immersion buff to make you say "corax(-class) destroyer" and "thorax-(class) cruiser", much like the better and more immersive pvp corps do on comms anyway

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.
