Aggro machanics broken?

Hi mission runners,

since the patch I recognize a very strage behaviour when I comes to aggro.

Ofententimes when I jump in a mission, I get aggro from the complete pocket, without even firing one shot and/or deploying drones. I had that with massive attack, intercept the saboteurs and mordus headhunter.

This wasnt the case before and I would like to hear from you, if you made similar observations and if this is working as intended, or just a bug caused by the new (terrible) sleeper AI

Well, that's what sleepers and incursion rats do. They don't wait for you to start shooting.

which makes full pockets sometimes a bit tricky, since 15 frigs, 20 cruiser and 10 BS are not easily tanked, since now you also have to micro manage your drones as well.....would like to hear if this is working as intended

i got the same problem, just post it in the issue thread, because in the pachnotes or in the devblogs wasnt anything about changing the aggro system in missions.

i'm REALY miss the old stuff.

You might want to re-read them. CCP made all NPC have sleeper AI so they are going to aggro you just from warping in. We've known about this for the last 2 months.

I'm beginning to wonder if the NPC AI buff will work out to be a highsec nerf...pushing more people away from missioning to more lucrative space?

Tears will be shed over this. Easymode is over. The mechanics are finally FIXED, not broken.

That's possible. Missions like blockade, pirate invasion, smuggler interception,the assault etc will be very hard to tank since they have many ships in a single room.

Blockade. Just don't kill trigger ships from each wave first.
PI, SI, TA... i'm usually do the first shots at every group of npcs to GET aggro from the whole room :)

Yep and some of us tried telling CCP that it was a better idea to revamp the content to fit with the new AI rather than this patch work mess. The current missions were made in a tie wher ei fCCP wanted to make them more challenging they just added more NPCs, where as sleeper sites were built from the ground up with the sleeper npc behavior in mind, (which is why you don't see sleep sites with 50 ships in them when you warp in).

They, of course, didn't listen.

Except for the part where according to the CCP communication the groups in the pockets are supposed to engage only as they have before.

"We want PvE activities to require active participation and mirror PvP more closely." Stacking penalty for NPC EWAR then? Lock range under 9km from over 100 in a BS is not fun. Nor is two NPC web drones making me crawl 10m/s. PvP SW-900 x5: 75m/s.
