Maybe, or maybe you could actually do something fun from other platforms... :)

We literally just heard about the session, and have no info on what CCP is going to tell us. It would be really helpful to know what sorts of stuff people want CCP to do on their own vs adding a CREST API for and letting 3rd parties do.

An iPad based client seems unlikely but would nonetheless be amazing.

This post was crafted by a member of the GoonSwarm Federation Economic Cabal, the foremost authority on Eve: Online economics and gameplay.

Free mobile apps that interact with EVE would be a great way to drive people to main game. Nothing that impacts on the main game, something like gambling related walking in stations would be a great thing to see.

I'm thinking it might be something more like CCP & Zynga bring you...

"My-PI"-- The Android/Iphone App were you can become a planetary industry tycoon. Engage in a 'build your city sim' where you are in control of manufacturing and development processes on dangerous, beautiful, or outright hostile planetary surfaces. Lead your industrial empire from up to 25 different planetary command centers and make hundreds of different products that are traded by fought over by warring factions and corporations making their home between your worlds. By checking in on your markets, launchpads, processing centers, harvesting links, logistics networks, fortifications and other infrastructure for just a few minutes each day, you can have an impact that will change the universe!

I would love for Eve to be available one of the cloud gaming services e.g. Gaikai. That would let me play it on my TV, iPad etc.

This is can be done two ways:

1. CCP develops apps and games for all platforms and spreads itself thin again like Burn Jita never happened
2. CCP develops server-side game mechanics and opens them via CREST, and third party developers build upon it.

Option 2 seems like it's giving up control, but nothing stops CCP from developing a Vita app for Dust, then saying "ok guys if you want something for Android or iphone, here's the CREST apis we created for it".

Awesome tools like Dotlan maps, DRK industy planner and eve-mentat have been created using only the most basic set of APIs; imagine if the developers got their hands on an entire new set of APIs to make PI into a game more like Outpost than the ******** click-and-wait-until-tomorrowfest that it is now. Hell, even Farmville in Space is better than what we have now - at least they make skinner boxes not-unfun.

tldr; design game first, make APIs second, farm out to other developers for each platform.

The facility for skill-queues to be updated on popular mobile platforms would be very useful for those who cannot access the computer over a prolonged period.

Benefit for CCP: A small charge to own this product (1 PLEX, for example) would increase revenue as over a period of time it is likely all pilots would end up making this purchase.

Benefit for the Player Base: This would enable players to access their character's skill queue from anywhere in the world. I am sure all of the older players will, at some point, wished something like this existed.

...I'm pretty sure that requires CREST to be sufficiently full featured, otherwise even CCP themselves won't be able to do it. :)

We already have a session about CREST and third-party access to it.

Looks like this session will be about other games on other platforms, but still hooked up to the Eve universe.

DUST514: definitely in this category (new game, new platform, same universe)

DUST PS Vita fitting app: mostly in this category (mashup of dust + EFT, new platform, same universe as dust)

Aura for Android: not really in this category (not much gameplay - mostly info, still different platform ant same universe)

So, new gaming features that Eve players might like to see?

A game for mobiles where players manage Incarna bars and installations, a bit like Theme Hospital or whatever. Or manage Dust stuff. Or manage a planetary colony ala Outpost.

Dust-themed SLAY for Android, because nobody has ported slay to android yet :(

A little tamagotchi app for mobiles so you can have a pet Hobgoblin II and level it up and fight with your friends.

A 2-d shooter with you in a Retriever, mining ore and avoiding catalysts :)

oh yeah, dust on PC.

A mobile app to manage market orders/manufacturing/contracts would be amazing. Not really a 'game' but still great. Skills are less important with the queue, but it would be nice too.

A 'traffic cam' app might be interesting. I know I could watch 4-4 lulz all day.

Hacking/Salvaging/Archeology mini-games could be amusing, though it obviously wouldn't tie in to TQ.

I would not be entirely opposed to the idea... of having WiS / PI Sim City as a stand alone 3rd person action/adventure game with RTS-like empire building menus that tied into both Eve and Dust...

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!
