Blockade Runners – now safe transporters or suicide ships?

So blockade runners are now unscannable by cargo scanners. But what will this mean? Will suicide gankers ignore those ships? Or will they rather blow up every Viator they see because they think there must be incredibly valuable stuff inside?

Please go forth and do some field tests, then report back here. In the name of science :)

I like to kill them because they make pretty explosions and only require one tornado.

They should have a 90% of exploding when passing through Niarja or Uedema, as I have a vested interest in them burning in flames.

Dear lord, please help me deal with the insufferable....

It's cute how you guys try and try and never seem to get a lock on mine... P

The orca could get away with it since it has 100k+ EHP, the blocade runners have <10k for the most part.
It will cost you less than 10m to blow a AP BR worth 140mil +fitting up, to see what it has inside.

Even if the hold is empty, the cloak will pay for most of the gank cost if it drops.

can warp cloaked ............................................................................ if you get ganked you are very unlucky or autopiloting in which case you deserve it.

I like ships with a stupid tax hehe

The trend seems not to be good for the Blockade Runners. Now let's see if the game warriors live up to the threats of the forum warriors :)

Myself, I actually never transport really valuable stuff with my Viator, I use CovOps or Recons instead. Viator is for bulkier items with no great value if I have to go through low, null or w-space. But of course the gankers can't know that.

If Blockade Runners are now routinely killed on undocking, they'll become obsolete and CCP's plans will once again have backfired.

Most of those instalock alpha strikes won't come with you having those mods online.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Not to mention all the **** he added to make insta-locking even easier. Probably doesn't make a huge difference, but why help the guys who are trying to kill you?

If by safer, you mean flying in Hi Sec, yes, I guess so. Since they can't be scanned, the ganker won't know if your cargo is worth the Concord response. They are no safer in lowsec where they will blow you up just becasue you were stupid enough to decloak.

They are very very safe anywhere if you simply fly using the same tactics I use in low sec: cloak between every stargate. That is the entire purpose of blackade runners.

If the salvage is worth enough of a couple blaster catalysts then whatever you might get on drops it's only bonus.
