With the DEVblog about implants being on pod kms now, does anyone else want to see a pod scanner module, so we know exactly how much to ransom for?

Ransoms are a cool part of piracy imo, a part that CCP endorses with the ship scanner, would just be cool see that moved over to pods as well

People actually use ship scanners? I'd support pod scanner if they mean yerr pirates would sacrifice 2 slots, thus making them easier to kill.Cool

I don't think that's a good idea. I prefer the thought of not having any clue what the person had implanted unless you end up podding them. If you catch a pod and the person manages to convince you that they don't have any worthwhile implants and give you a low offer and you accept it, they deserve to get away with their bluff.

I think this is one case where too much information would take away from the game. Instead of back and forth negotiating on a fair ransom, it would be "Wait a minute while I bring my pod scanning alt over. Oh, you're worth xxxM, pay me that much or I blow you up".

most pirates dont, but some put them on scanning alts, so you still have some idea. Not everyone uses one ship for everything

this is a fair point, but at the same time, its one of those gambles isn't it, you can get caught in a shiny ship and try and bluff your way out with a lowish ransom, as long as the pirates don't have a ship scanner, I don't see why the same option shouldn't be given for pods

Mainly because the people getting shot at also happen to have access to the internet, and people would stop paying pretty fast if no one was honoring ransoms.

SpaceHonor (TM) aside, is the Pod scanner a viable module? and would it add or detract from the game?

I liked your post so I could unlike it. No offense to you personally, but the very idea of adding implants to KMs is gratuitous at best, and promoting KMwhoring at worst. There's no real purpose for it since the implants are destroyed and cannot actually be dropped. It's about boosting numbers only whilst furiously punching the clown, turning KBs into MMO adult entertainment.
