Greetings

My 2 cents, instead of crapping all over existing game play, which is working as advertised. How about (insert sci-fi story line here) Open new space! What EVE needs is not to force people into play the way the some think might be better. Most arguments made here for Nerfing this or changing that are made by folks who have been negatively affected by it. Not really un-biased.

We need an Oklahoma Land rush!!!!

The New Space would look something like this:

1) The Jove provide new jump bridges that stabilize worm holes and create gate travel in the known Sleeper systems. Opening up 2500 new systems for people to move into.

2) All the game mechanics work in the new space with the current effects of the sleeper systems.

3) SOV works the same way (allowing for minor tweaks in SOV mechanics that fix things that are truly broken and not just people whining)

4) Sleepers are the NPC Ratt's with all the loot and salvage that this entails.

5) Sleepers are not cowed or pirates, they actively hunt you down and they attack SOV structures. Maybe have a situation where-as Sleepers get more active in systems that do not keep the military/ strategic / industries index's up.

6) Sleepers as a faction maybe?

I get it, we all want small gang, but everyone knows that SOV takes large fleets to hold and take. Making it any harder to do this will not fix the game, it just makes the tedium more unbearable.

0.0 was the wild west, and it is now the townsville.

Its a simple thought, but we need a new wild west.

What a bad idea, opening up new space, meanwhile CURRENT 0.0 space is 70% unused (but "occupied" by large fast force projecting titan briding entities)?! What a great idea make more unused space, rats need space badly! And if you don't belive me, check dotlan maps.

The complaint is that people who have worked together for years and built up resources have some unfair advantage over space they hold SOV in by means of Titan Bridges. Which by the way is what CCP intended from the start. One aspect of EVE that is great is that a highly motivated group of individuals can take over the galaxy if they put their effort towards that end. All I hear from dissenters is to Nerf that ability at ever turn.

Furthermore what the OP has suggested affects one group (SOV holders) with no affect on the other (I want what you have without working for it) group.

Wether or not the 70% is used or unused is irrelevant because large SOV holding entities will defend their space with extreme prejudice. If you want part of that 70% there are ways: Open Diplomatic channels and ask how to become part of the enterprise, Try and take it by force, Ninja it and be ready to GTFO when found. See? There are three suggestions that do not infringe on anyones play styles.

What my original idea would do is give the Blobbing SOV coalitions a place to go, opening up the current 0.0 to more people.
CCP could even go as far as moving boundary lines of High Sec, Low Sec further out increasing the size the area of influence of CONCORD and FACTIONS. Also as I would keep the resources the same so even though High and Low sec expand they now have "safer" access to the resources of those once unreachable areas.

No one gets Nerfed and we all get more space....well I guess the WH guys get the shaft. But on the same note T3 production becomes more streamlined and prices go way down...Tengus for everyone...but that is a different discussion.

+1 DNS Black for CSM 8

How about you go read my post (which implies that I read after all that stupid letter) instead of acting like an idiot? :)

As for the Dirt Nap squad guy.
Would you like some whine with that?
Trying to pick on ratters and loners is not elite pvp, and when the **** get real and you die it's because you suck and not because of the bridges.

1. if you did, you didn't understand it.
2. Elite pvp and TEST? Really?

But lets not start flaming please, we are trying to talk about DNS Black for CSM 8 here, which I totally support.

The issue is twofold:

1: Ability to project power over large areas in a short amount of time with close to no preparation, except for a few cynos and some fuel in the fuel bay.

2: Current sov mechanics, with so many timers and x amount of reinforcement before you are able to do anything.

Combine those 2, and you get the what we have today.

Put down SBU: 5 minutes
Anchor SBU: 8 Hours

During that entire operation, the SBU is vulnerable.

After that you can shoot the station and IHUB.

The station have 2 reinforcement timers.

Quote:
Example: "Desired reinforcement exit time is set to 18:00. The station goes into reinforced mode at 19:00. The starting value is therefore 23 hours. 48 hours are added to that value totaling up to 71 hours. A random value between 3 and -3 is then added to that value, meaning that the station will come out of reinforced mode anywhere between 68 and 74 hours from when it was put into reinforced mode.“

So 2 x 48 Hours at the minimum.

IHUB has less, so I wont take that one into account. But it's needs to be killed as well.

Now you can shoot the TCU....

Even if the defender don't do ANYTHING to defend, it will take the attacker over 4 days before they can shoot the TCU....

Combine that with the ability to project force at the speed that is done today, and you can basically fight a war on multiple fronts.

Pretty much what Tzeer said. The current mechanisms are ideally suited to ever-larger conglomerates.

One key issue is that the strength of sov merely depends on how long the system has been claimed. If it was dependent on how much it was used by the owners, with (at the lowest level) neglected backwater systems vulnerable to being ninja'd in an hour or two by a determined 20-30 man gang, then we'd see a rapid contraction of coalition space.

But a change like that also needs to come in hand-in-hand with changes that allow sov space to be more densely inhabited.

And from recent experience, any change which relies on CCP also releasing a bunch of other related changes simultaneously is flirting with disaster.

Thanks for this post i seek no fame i only seek the game i fell in love with. I am a coach not a CSM prospect. My only hope is this game return to its roots and to restores NEW EDEN to its past glory. No ship in the game should wreck that. As the summit approachs please consider the force projection of conventional ships in eve CSM and CCP and realize the mistakes of the past can be corrected and the depth and width of EVE resotred with simple changes.

I know we wont burn JITA over this but we will destroy what we built over the last 10 years. My investment in CCP has a return unmatched by in value. I can only hope that the owners realize the the game they have today will not produce the same amount of return if they continue to make the NEW EDEN sandsox, a hostile place for BUTTERFLIES to enjoy.
