I'm thinking of installing EVE on my MBA as the title of my post says, but I'm not sure if it will be able to handle it without heating issues. Does anyone know if this is a good idea?

I ran a client or two on my late 2011 MBA. It isn't particularly great but it worked. As far as heat not too sure it was always clamshelled and hooked to an external monitor.

Use smcFanControl and turn the fans at maximum when you play eve.
This way i can keep the temperature around 90c on my rMBP

My late 2011 MBA w/Intel 3000 is my primary playing machine. Graphics turned down low, works fine. I play fullscreen on the 13". Driving my 27" is a little tougher in terms of performance, but still doable

My 2010 11" MBA with NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB can handle EVE Online with details turned down. It works fine for small fleets, starts to choke a little in Jita or when there are lots of dust clouds (doesn't like Amarr).

Without smcFanControl it will regularly hit about 70-75°C but it still runs okay.
