Restructure EVE - Kill The CSM

I never really thought the CSM was a particularly good idea to begin with. A quote unquote "counsel of stellar management" always had to have been a marketing tool. I also never really "got" why CCP has such a problem understanding the very game that they design. By that same token... I also never understood why the EVE University had to be created by actual players, and no such establishment ever sprung up as a part of the actual gaming design. The best we got were those stupid certificates.

It's now in style to say that EVE is a "sand box so deal with it", but after you get done drooling on the floor you can't help but recognize that if the NPC corporations were more like "schools" of some kind, EVE would have much better new player retention. That would be better for everyone, including CCP's bottom line... their revenue stream.

A + B = CCP

If CCP Alliance was an actual alliance playing the game, complete with real alliance concerns, maybe CCP would "get" their game a little better. Lead by someone at CCP HQ, and populated with a few GM's and any number of real life subscribers, it could easily be a nifty little feature that would allow the people in charge to see the game as we see it.

Let a hired GM appoint a recruiter
FC fleets
Deal with other alliances
& get blobbed by supercapitals

This would give CCP positive, indisputable and real time feedback about the game. Why they choose to get this information from a hand full of "elected players" doesn't make much sense to me. Just like I don't understand why they have chosen to create a "help channel" but no "helpful corporations" like E-uni, where the masses can get a foothold on EVE life with a guiding hand.

They Could Still Market It As A Harsh Universe

While improving their bottom line...
It is after all about how much money they rake in... and they rake in allot. An actual team of Dev's openly playing the game along side other players, would do more for this game then any "counsel" possibly could. I also believe that if they just took a little bit of time to approach new people and assist them, we would have way more people staying (and loving) this game.

my 2cents.

You didn't take my advice into consideration. Use less line breaks between your paragraph and you'll come off looking like a genius. Instead these kind of things turns people off like ellipses do.

I have found that formatting posts like this keeps peoples attention better then a wall of text.

You felt the need to start a forum topic about something that has forum topics already started about it why?

Reported for topic spam, and your idea is dumb, they're cutting staff, they aren't going to pay for staff, coupled with the fact that CCPs stance has always been "Give the players the tools, and see what they do with them". Hence EvE Uni being a player run operation, not some half baked thing CCP created.

Maybe you're in the wrong game?

tl;dr

I'll wait for someone to read the whole thing and quote the parts that aren't self absorbed drivel.

I think he's in the wrong game...CCP has always given us the means, we just have to figure out the end. I'd rather CCP listen to us and not try to cook something like this up.

Also...why did you feel the need for another thread, as specified above?

+1 for getting ride of CSM.

From what CCP says, CSM was just a boat down trouble water the whole time.
They never improved the game. As CCP admitted that the devs never got wind of what they said.

Save us the BS that was last season CSM by getting ride of them.

Has most of the same problems as the CSM, paired with the fact that a CCP alliance would obviously have advantages over any other player alliance.

...do you actually follow what the CSM is doing or are you just pulling that garbage out of your ***?

You lost me right after saying "quote unquote" and then actually quoting and unquoting it with quotation marks.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Wait, CSM was giving battleship rides last season? Where was I?
