As earlier reported the New York Museum of Modern Art has acquired EVE Online as part of its permanent collection.

We will capture one day of life in New Eden on video and present it as part of this exhibition that would play acrosss two large screens. This video will also show gameplay videos recorded by you!

Yes, you have the chance to get part of your video and your EVE life presented to millions of visitors at the Museum of Modern Art!

Read all about this incredible opportunity in CCP t0rfifrans' devblog here.

will you accept a nudist piece?...

Also i would say that this is a great way of advertising eve without making it an obvious advertising ploy. Show its beauty and people will be interested, please dont make this an obvious advert.

No Worries

"give me all your isk i double it". whats left is to teach a monkey to write that on a wall and we are set.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Will there be no chronicling of EVE history at the exhibit?

Does the video have to be captured on December 9th?

(I'm asking this now, because I know someone else will if I don't)

Not explicitly there, this is not the right forum for it, but be sure we are working on several fronts to prepare something like that for the 10 year anniversary.

The first time I started reading ISK 3.0 I was entrenched with the lore. I was confused why this part of EVE had not been introduced to me in regular gameplay.

In museums I particularly like the exhibits that feature a sort of tunnel with timelines and images from those times, sounds, radio chatter, video clips, etc. This acts as a bridge between reality and a fictional world, and puts you there.

Going with the whole EVE is Real idea, this has the potential to be amazing. A good exhibit is immersive.

It would serve a dual-purpose to develop a 'video trailer' for EVE that started current day and went to the rise of the different factions. It could be used for the exhibit and it would also help feed the lore bucket that we can't get enough of, with content we have never seen. Put it online or as the EVE intro, it's classic but really it's due for a remake, especially with DUST about to hit.

EVE can make you feel like you're in the game, I would hope that such an exhibit would give that impression.

Good luck, make us proud CCP!

Yes, preferably. The concept is that this shows a slice of EVE, one day thick. Otherwise we would use various existing player videos that are online already. By having it captured on Sunday, Dec, 9th, we can intercut several videos from different perspectives, both in the same solarsystem or different parts of the universe. It also allows us to show infographics of the same events or a collection events, using the backend data we will capture the same day.

This will be epic.

I'll promote it in my alliance, maybe some OPs will go on 9th. Not sure though....

Not to tell you how to do this, but I think an interesting way of showing all these videos would be to have the large screens as touch screens, then divide the screen area into a lot of small tiles, with a size of maybe 5x5 cm, all of them playing their own video simultaneously. Then if someone wants to see a specific video they can touch that tile and it will expand, hiding some of the other tiles in the process.

All the videos could take place during the same say 5 minutes, giving a feeling for everything that happens all the time in EVE.

Sounds like a perfect time for a Burn Jita Part 2 operation. Or we should just make POS art.

Even though it's not December 9th, Vile Rat's cyno vigil would be an interesting mention.

Fix POSes.  Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one).

Will there be a screen at the museum that show EVE statistics that update in real time?

Getting statistics on the core features of the game. Destroying ships, the market and item manufacturing.

Lets say a screen that shows:
- Number of ships destroyed in the past hour or 10 minutes and the ISK value of them.
- Number of market transactions in the past minute and amount of ISK changing hands in thoes transactions.
- Number of items being built by players.
- Number of EVEmails being sent in the past 10 minutes.
- Number of characters online (obviously).

We did consider it, but being that the exhibit is up for 11 months, and we couldn't ensure uptime ( expansions, patches and other downtime ) we opted for a perfectly pre-cooked exhibit that will aim to show the metrics you list, but for that date, rather than in real time.
