A loyalty / long term player reward system has already been suggested in the General Discussion thread, and CCP didn't seem adverse to the idea. We'll see what they implement.

This sub-forum isn't really the place for venting anger, or for suggestions to CCP.

As far as existing programs for benefits for a long term player, Tank CEO is doing it right, reaping benefits from you and everyone else being his buddy. You just did it backwards. You can, however, start offering buddy invites to others, and gain free time from it, on your high level character, if you want.

You CAN subscribe part-way into your trial, and you keep the remaining trial days (they don't get wiped out).

Thanks for the information.

Just to be absolutely clear I have no issue or problem with tankCEO, he is using the system as its intended to work.

It just baffled me that the system didn't work for people that were part way through their trial.

I'm subbed now, I'll just kiss the 300m isk away that I felt so tantalizingly close to having!

Maybe I can blow some people up and earn it that way. Probably die a million times in the process. Oh well. Roll

If Tank CEO had never made his deal up, and was never offering 300m to be his buddy, then you would have no problems with the buddy system? So you are criticizing CCP's system, because of the way one player uses it? If so then I think you should be telling them to shut Tank CEO down, rather than complaining that you can't abuse the system too.

What?

And the responses to this thread were almost making me feel like I had reading comprehension deficiencies.

Suddenly, I feel better.

I didn't fail to read anything.

I think CCP could maybe do themselves some favors by allowing people who have actually attempted to play the game, like individuals who are in the middle of a trial, to benefit from the system.

That is why it sucks.

Flame on.

Lol, exploit away with free accounts

14 day trial, on day 13 you add a buddy invite on it, you get another 21 days for free.

That is 35 days of a free alt....yeah, sure that won't be exploited to hell and back....

ooh wait, OP didn't think things trough.

So, don't. Who is forcing you?

Well....THIS.

Nobody is forcing you to use the buddy invite system.

You can just run your trial as it is now and then subscribe.

But then again, you don't get that amount of money YOU wanted.

This has absolutely nothing to do with CCP or the buddy invite, all actions and complains you posted so far can be traced back to your actions.

And really the attitude and mindset so far....expecting a maximum of 2 months before we see next rage post about quitting EVE.

I hadn't considered that. Like most things in EVE I have noticed, I've got a lot to learn.

"To-Learn" list

1. Learn how to sound and act like a d-bag with subtle mockery like most other people on these forums.

2. Everything else.

I felt the need to add my 2 ISK here.

If you delete this character the name will be available for the next character. The only real hassle would be to re-create the avatar/looks. In my experience that takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

The EVE community is pretty much straight forward. These are good people who are willing to help but they also don't have a lot of tolerance when someone is mistaken in their logic or when they fault the wrong thing.

In this situation, you wanted to blame CCP for the buddy program when that wasn't the issue. CCP does -not- offer 300 million ISK to new players. CCP does offer existing players an incentive to invite new players to try the game. If the new player subscribes then the player who did the inviting gets a free month of gametime.

What you were trying to do was (is), essentially, game the system. You came to EVE Online on your own (which is awesome!) and then saw that someone was offering "free ISK" to new players to use the buddy invite program. But, instead of creating a new account (which is needed for the buddy invite system since it is meant to attract brand new players not existing players) you wanted to, understandably, use your existing account.

This isn't CCP's fault or a problem with the buddy invite system.

If anything, you can now continue playing with a clean conscious knowing that you didn't game the system... :)

I would suggest that if you continue to post in the forums that you take some time prior to posting to make sure that you have your base information correct otherwise you will get eaten alive. But, as a whole, the community is really helpful and friendly in its way.

In short: we're happy to help people who put in the effort to get ahead and see possibilities rather than problems, but we **** on whiny clowns who lack the braincells to add 1 and 1 together, and who blame everything but themselves if they get it wrong. If you want to do well in EVE, be it with other players, on these forums or actually the game itself I'd urge you to stop being said whiny clown and HTFU a bit.

Hi,

I'm sorry your dis-satisfied with the buddy program that is, but the detail is pretty clear.

As this thread has degenerated and its original post isn't really up for debate here, I'm locking this.
