Do something about the market bots.

I'm not the smartest person ever, but I feel very stupid having to battle it out with bots in market. And I also begin to feel stupid because I'm playing this game with such a broken and unfair ... whatever ... when it comes to bots.

It's actually people with no life, not bots. Particularly in fast moving markets like PLEX.

What do you suggest? The removal of the 5 min delay? We'd still have updates faster than you can click "change order". Remove the .01 isk place that was added early in the game? We'd have 1 isk wars instead of .01. (That same expansion a lot was done to fix the market because some players couldn't hack the fast pace of market pvp) Fat lot of good that did, huh? Add in a longer delay, say 10 min? The split second after you update yours, they'd update theirs, and it'd stay on top for 10 min instead of 5.

That's not just the market bots, that's people who trade for a living, too, and don't like to do anything else but watch orders for their beloved niche in the market. You would still lose to every one of them as well.

I make really good money precisely because I avoid most of Jita market trading.


Guess what else you can do? Create a couple more characters, and take a month to train both of them in market trade skills and some faction for the station they're parked in. Now, instead of being able to change once every 5 minutes, you can change it 3 times every 5 minutes. When that bot or player tops your bid, you can top them back, safe in the knowledge that you are untouchable for 5 minutes- unless they are running multiple trade alts as well (which means you are up against a player, not a bot) or you are trading in a heavily favored item.
