Working with a fractured and isloated EU TZ Amarr Militia

One thing i see time and time again flying with the Amarr in the EU TZ is numerous individual corps and pilots flying around getting whelped by some of the large minmatar gangs. I also see that behaviour being mentioned time and time again on the forums from both sides. The thing is we do now have the numbers in our TZ to put up a fight we just need co-ordination and a willingness to work together.

As it stands its far to easy for the smaller groups in the amarr on seperate comms in seperate fleets to get out numbered and destroyed by the much larger, richer and more organised minmatar gangs. IPROT my alliance would like to start changing this but to have more of an impact we need more pilots and even more importantly more corps to join with us. If you are currently looking for an alliance to bring your corp into in FW we would love to hear from you, we are growing at a pretty good rate and take as many fights as we can but we would love to be able to take on even more.

Lets all get together have a little group hug and go and trash some minmatar together. Im pretty sure that if we in the EU TZ started working together we could make a large impact in a fairly small amount of time.

Wouldn't the Alliance & Corporation recruitment subforum be the place for this ?
Not that I wouldn't like to see you guys better organized. It's just that it doesn't really have anything to do with warfare & tactics does it ?

Problem in the Amarr militia is partly down to egos and partly down to people just wanting smaller scale fights. Unfortunately not much can be done about the second if the Minnie's prefer a larger gang, and the first is usually a inherent part of your personality if you 'suffer' from being egotistical, so not too much can be done about that either unless the lead personnel change.

Andro.
You know I really liked you guys and I had a great time with a lot of fun with you all.
Everything great.
But I left because of IPROTs big mistakes in strategy and tactics. You also know that I fleeted in the last 2 months with many other corps because IPROTs main fleeting time is my main working time.
It simply hurt to hear from almost every other corp "okay I once fleeted with you but I died horribly".
You have numbers, you have good fc´s but you simply need to be smarter with tactics and fleet doctrines.
David also didn´t try to fight Goliath in a fist fight.
I suppose I coulnd´t be sooooo wrong with all I wanted change in IPROT when I joined s0re and see that they really do everything (really everything) like I wanted it that IPROT does it.
You need to dictate more when and what you engage. If IPROT gets better the peeps will also join you.
Hopefully the new cruiser rebelance helps you with that.
But again: Stop trying a fist fight being David vs a very big Goliath. In this case we are even David vs.4 Goliaths.

I wish you all the best.

Edit: Peeps who join Iprot: Okay you will get slaughtered but you will have really much fun and many good laughs. So it is maybe worth it. Try it.

Edit2: Okay Ethan is only good FC when he is drunk. Rofl.

come on down to metro. move some assets into metro and you'll find some fights. U'K sometimes will fight when they have 3-4x numbers but diaf with even numbers, D'K same story, TRIAD comes to help them sometimes with SFI/BB fleets as well. there is action in metro.

Your Idea is good Andro, but when you won't listen to PvP corps and then proceed to kick them out, really you should perhaps focus on making a mining corp in hi-sec Shocked

It is indeed a shame that there is no single amarr FW Alliance, but not to worry I'll just grow my corp big enough to do all the cleaning up (you might even be able to continue your low sec mining and lvl 5 missions from your Sahtogas station) Blink

Unfortunately we removed you from the alliance because of personality clashes which were explained at the time. Sometime corps and alliances dont gel together which is a shame but cant be helped.

We will continue to occasionally run missions and mine in order to pay for the PVP we enjoy doing, we as an alliance cannot ask our members to PVP 24/7 without finding someway of helping them pay for it. This is the route we have decided to go down. Our alliance is a PVP alliance, PVP is what we do but everyone knows that PVP has to be paid for somehow

Try not to be to bitter about leaving, it was one of those things and im sure we will end up working in fleets together at some point, i didnt take it personnaly as i know not everyone in life can be fast friends.

Unfortunately you make yourself out to be petty and stupid posting comments like this which i didnt think you were.

Thankyou Colt, you know i agree with you in some respects which i have kind of gone over in all my recent forum posts anyway, but i dont know how many times i can say it until people start listening, we are a new alliance with lots of new players finding our feet and trying things. We are going to lose fights and we kind of have to lose them to learn all the things we are doing wrong.

I think we have created a nice alliance to be a part of, we have fun and as you said people that join generally have a good time (gunship excluded apparently). The war beat us down a bit for a while but we came back strong, now we just need to find a way to start beating goliath, maybe one day we will who knows but as long as we have fun trying we are all happy.

As for doctrines, id love to be more strict but we dont have the SP amongst our players to really start putting them in place, we are also finding our feet with what works and what dosent. We dont claim to be pros or leet PVP we kind of want to have fun shooting stuff and thats not the place for everyone.

You sound mad. You mad?

Regardless of numbers, if you still win fights, the fights must be at least somewhat fair. You just get to feel more pro for fighting outnumbered. Again, you're welcome.P

While Andro's post is well intentioned, I can't help believe it's filled with naivete. You will have disparities in timezones and various other imbalances in all militias. Not just Amarr. There are plenty of imbalances in Gallente/Caldari warzone as well.

Probably the biggest mistake that any new alliance like Fiscal Fisting can make is to recruit too many corps into your alliance. A 150 man alliance starting at 55% isk efficiency isn't too bad given you're only 2 months old. Work on current infrastructure and organizational mechanics before trying to become some 300-man alliance behemoth only to realize that you've watered down your organization to the point that you're not effective at all.

I actually hear this rebuttal quite a bit. I've flown with quite a few FCs on the Gal side to hear the exasperation after hearing them say for the umpteenth time; "Guys- no thoraxes in this shield fleet!" I think that if you don't start finding a way to implement certain doctrines real fast, you will have very watered down fleets within your alliance regardless if you're 150 or 300 pilots strong. Put it this way; one does not wakka wakka into Mordor without a fleet doctrine. You create it and you demand it from the pilots. Lack of SPs is not an excuse for lack of fleet doctrines as there are ways around it.

Doctrines are FCs egowanking half the time and wanting to Hannibal Lecter a situation versus rolling with a Kitchen Sink doctrine and making do.

Literally half the time, Minmatar gets big fleets because people get into fleet and ask "what are we flying?" and the answer is "cruiser down", "knives, forks, spoons".

You have to make do with what you've got, not an ideal world where every character has months to crosstrain Amarr/Caldari or Gallente/Minmatar to cover supposed Doctrines. And in the end, it really, really doesn't matter if you kitchen sink it unless you have logi backup - after all, it's not like taking a Thorax to a shield fleet means diddly unless you have logi.

Besides, the biggest doctrine in FW right now is OGB alts. it is more important to tank via loki boosts than worry about lowslot versus midslot tanking philosophy. The moment you turn on automagical loki, it doesn't matter whether you actually have a tank, because you get mystical spirit fingers speed and unicorn levels of point rangge and sig radius voodoo.

Of course, this pontification will expire in 8 hours, with the advent of cheap, reliable logistics cruisers. Then it will help to have proper fleet tanking philosophy and fitting harmony. But until then, fill your basins with your dirty cutlery, and stop being elitist pricks.

Main problem is that people do not understand how different amarr militia is in comparison to minmatar militia.
Andro even if you would get your high sp pilots with doctrine fleets that would fail.
Main problem is here to understand the main issue:
People in amarr militia are for the fights and PVP here.
Most minnies (I suppose 95%) are doing it because they are defending their income and mission running LP.
The minnies only blob and run if they do not outnumber you. Yesterday a cormorant ran away from my hookbill. And 3 minuutes later a sfi^^
That is minmatar militia and it is all about that:
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=15370530
You will see far more of them soon because ?*!?§/)(`! CCP is changing rat respawn in plexes to only one.
If you would get a nice fleet up the minnies would simply hide.
Didn´t you see that almost all minnie fleets have the doctrine: "Go to that system. Blob it and plex it back."
You see pure pvp "let´s get fun" minnie fleets very seldom. It is all about plexing.
Amarr militia sometimes engages even when they shouldn´t engage. Simply for fun and lolz. Minmatar militia would NEVER do that.
Simply because to complete different goals. Minmatar want to hold T4 to make ISK with missions like hell. Amarr guys want pvp.
I really don´t know how long the minnie corps can do this further more. Blob Lamaa, sit with 12man in a plex and get almost no LP. But okay they defend their mission income with it.
I once did it 4 or 5 days in Kourm (BEFORE you got LP for it) and tbh we only lost Kourm (1.5months ago?) because everyone was sick of def plexing. I remember Greygal saying that she is happy when we get rid of that system because def plexing is *!/&%!?*
But minnies do it. And why? The are mostly mission runners and blobbers.
I don´t know any one amarr corp who could do this stupid def plexing in Lamaa like the minnies do it without mutiny.
So forget big slow doctrine ships. You have only a small chance to win=> minnies run and you won´t have fights.
But be fast and dictate where and when you engage and you will probably grab and kill 20% of them while the rest chickens out.
Then move fast again before they grab their friends and blob you.
The only stuff that is working really good vs. minnies is hit and run.
You remember our wofl packs? They were awesome.

Sasawong is the most prolific plexer - he also has a huge number of kills.
FEO and LNA offer a lot of the resistance in Lamaa and Kourmonen and Huola - we never see farmers plexing on our behalf.

The main difference between the militias is that the MInnie comms are filled with laughter and jokes whilst the Amarrian comms are filled with tears and whining. Sometimes it makes my ears hurt - really I dunno why I moved my alt to iprot, it is depressing me.

Good luck with the hit and run tactics - most minnies favour this tactic and would get pretty excited hunting down Amarr skirmish gangs.

Otherwise, keep your chins up guys and keep trying. You are getting better!

Oh, and did you like the way we let you get your hopes up about Lamaa (85%) before our cross TZ collaborative effort between the PVP alliances plexed it back down? Twisted

Killing your ships and your hope makes for the sweetest tears!
