As of everything in life, the haters always make much more noise than the non-haters.

Everyone that I know pretty much thinks CCP Dolan works well in contrast to the commentary style of others like Kil2, CCP Falcon or CCP Fozzie.

Commentary is not only about being an eve-wiki on game mechanics you know, there is a lot more to it than that, and I think CCP Dolan does a great job at bringing some light entertainment to the matches, and I am sure for someone watching who knows nothing or very little about eve pvp it is nice to hear.

Seconded. If you want people to tune in you can't bore them with Eve techno speak. Same formula as football broadasts, etc. You have the play by play guy who plays it straight and technical and a color guy who provides personality and entertainment. Ya know, someone willing to grow and then shave off a snidley whiplash mustache for the masses.

That being said I would LOVE for Shadoo to commentate again. Shadoo is entertainment!

Just posting some more <3 for Dolan to balance the haters in this thread.

I think pretty much the only way he could possibly improve as a commentator would be if he grew back his moustache because it pleases the eye, soothes the mind and increases classiness by 250%.

Kil2 was by far the best commentator.

That said, Fozzie has very much stepped up his game this last weekend, he hardly missed anything important going on in matches. Maybe he finally started to look at the lower part of the screen more instead of the graphics, because like in the real game unfortunately, everything happens in the lines of numbers and bars displayed, the 3d graphics are just there to add flavor.

i would not agree more, i would give ever ccp dev a T1 fitted rifter if they got shadoo to commentate again.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Hey I get that you want the one guy who's there to talk regardless of their lack of knowledge about the game, but when you have 2 of them it's kind of frustrating to watch and embarrassing at times with the terrible commentating and post game insight.

Fozzie + * works really well, at least he'll be there for the finals.

I thought all the commentators did a good job and played off of each other really well. I especially liked CCP Soundwave's Deadpan style, CCP Dolan's smooth delivery, and CCP Fozzie's depth of knowledge. It's been really entertaining so far and I'm looking forwards to the big finale!

Working through Day 5 right now and I'm loving Dolan's commentary. He works well in a caster/commentator duo. NEO has turned out to be a really fun/awesome tourney.

My constructive critisism for Dolan. Ease up on the predictions. Saying that "I like Team X in this matchup, let's see what happens." is a lot more diplomatic than "I think that Team X is going to win." It is basically the same, but a bit different.

The same goes for during a match. "The match is swinging in Team X's favor." might be superior to "Now Team X is going to win".

Kil2 was terrible, Fozzie was the best with Dolan always
