"The Community team are now located in our Reykjavik office"

Why the hell would they be away from the Devs? Good Job Hilmar.

So you finally realised that putting a proxy in between you and the player base may lead to a sense of disconnection? You may want to improve your reading frequency here on this forum as much as your posting. Because, you know, we kinda told you this would happen when you came up with the role change of the CSM.

oh i get it now... you had to downsize so you fired americans

Wouldn't you do the same in their shoes? Refocusing = consolidating resources. I'm sure nobody is happy about having to make cuts, but they are making logical adjustments in order to achieve new goals.

what i am saying is i understand why now... makes sense if the community team is in Iceland to lay off those who dont live there....

i thought it was someting personal against them... but now i understand its "just" business,.,.,.

There are no stupid Questions... just stupid people... CCP Goliath wrote:

Much love to the Community Team. I've had a chance to talk to/work with a lot of them. It was heartbreaking to this chapter of their career close. My condolences to those that have parted and I wish you the best and all that you do. To those that remain on/have joined the team; I look forward to working with you.

Will any specific Community person pick up CCP Zymurgist's Fan-Site Project?

This new fancy technology takes time to get used to *grumble grumble* but I'm on #tweetfleet and the client is running whenever I'm at the computer. Smile

Dude, I get you. Push button phones were new to me at one time too... You *can* get used to the new Tech!

And thanks for the new communications. REALLY appreciated!

Thank you for your kind words.

We will pick it up collectively along with other projects while we re-organize. Feel free to mail me if anything is needed in the short term.

i hoped for more infos, given your blog is mostly a mix of what we know from hilmar interview and your previous forum post about future features.

i don't mean it's a wrong way to do it however, but it's not what i was expecting.

if we can have information quicker on forum than on devblog (which seems obvious), then don't hesitate to give us this information.
the more real infos we'll see on forum, the more we'll see that you really listen to us.
(but don't forget to be careful at what you write, you know what we sometime see things that are not written ;))

also something you need to do ; send us the information from outside the offcial forum, for example the interview of hilmar was not officialy posted here or on twitter.
these are important, and (dunno for the others) i really hate to see important pieces of informations being outside us, and not even linked.

for now i'll wait to see how you guys do things before giving a judgement on this change.

Several weeks ago we also started planning for the return of a volunteer moderator program. This plan is still in the design stage and we hope to bring you a blog on it in the coming weeks. The new volunteer moderator team will have a different role than before and will not be in a position to ban other players accounts or see any alts. We understand that this is something players are concerned about so we will be providing you with a very in depth blog explaining their role over the coming weeks.

With a slight possibility to sound like a Vulcan:

Creation of Customer Relations dept. sounds logical.

I really hope that you can maintain the positive "blue bars" trend, because I very much like that. Once again, I'm sorry for those who had to leave CCP and wish them all the best.

Volunteer program sounds interesting.

As to twitter, I use it, but I don't see a point to it for CCP other than to announce new devblogs perhaps...

other reasons?

Good bye to all the CCP Employees, I hope you all land well!

It is very hard to have everyone spread out while trying to keep the message clear, it was an understandable, yet sad task that needed to be done.

Still unsure how the "less people to do more work" theory that repeatedly fails when its implemented in other companies is supposed to be a good thing that will make CCP's historically dismal customer relations better.

In fairness, I'll say that CCP has bee far more open and forthcoming in the recent weeks than ever before. And it seems that the "give the customer what they want" philosophy is starting to take root. Whether that model will be allowed to grow and flourish remains to be seen.

I'm hopeful, but at the same time, based on a well-established track record, not holding my breath.

People were constantly telling me I was crazy. For a long time I didn't believe them, but after a while, I started to think they might be right.

But it turns out that they were all wrong. One of the voices in my head is a psychiatrist and he says I'm perfectly sane.

The volunteer program has been something we've needed for a long time actually.

I take issue only with the DEV's kissing whiners asrses. 'I'M A CUSTOMER GIVE ME WHAT A WANT OR I UNSUB!' And the DEV's give a 'Okay' face.

Sorry to break this here but, in near all scenario's the customer is WRONG and does not know whats best. CCP, take all of this with a grain of salt and DO NOT start bowing down to every person that whines and cry's on the forum. I'm happy to see these changes but remember the people that play this game will take you for everything you have, just like in EvE.

I think the community team have a tough challenge in the weeks ahead in the face of a skeptical bunch of players.

Im impressed by the level of interaction and communication so far - its really great to see.
