In the patch notes for Retribution, it says that all T3 ships have been V3'd.

Yet on Buckingham they look exactly the same as they did before.
Does Buckingham not have the final release version of Retribution, or did the V3 change virtually nothing about the T3 ships appearances?

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Can't wait to see how they tackle V3'ing the Capital Ships....

Look more closely, textures and reflections have changed and are now slightly more shiny and less pixelated (I checked the Tengu). The geometry seems to be exactly the same, however.

Oh !

I though it was a change in the lighting engine, after noticing the change and comparing both clients with a tengu in the exact same situation in the same system.

Depending on the ship the V3 process is more visible as on othersRollBlink

The textures are improved, but it's not such a huge difference compared to the other ships because the T3 ships already had pretty good textures anyway.

The most noticeable difference however is that they now have the heat engine haze effect, which is nice.

Also, thank you to whoever made the lights react in the same way as the engine flares, because the lights clipping in the hull were pretty ugly. They look much better now, especially on ships such as the Cyclone, Rifter, Tristan etc. Big smile

What's funny is that the Tengu's V3 work is already observable on Tranquility via the preview window or fitting menu, yet the V2 model is what's used for gameplay.

I was kind of hoping that the V3 work for the T3 cruisers would be a little more noticeable. Oh well, though.

That's hardly fair though, that some ships get more treatment than others. Several lines of ships got all new textures as part of the V3 project, while others were made just a tiny bit shinier with some logos added.

considering some ships haven't been touched in ages, it's only fair those get more care than others.

The only difference I see in my Apotheosis (SOCT) is the addition of two of those extremely tiny red lights that have been poppping up on these remakes.

That would be great. But there is a huge difference between a Jovian Shuttle and a Jovian Cruiser.

We remember what happened when the Devs came out in only Jovian Frigates........................
