Hi,

I do FW lvl4 missions for income. Mostly solo. With a bomber I can do this very nice. But since I'm in enemy territory already I want to combine it with PvP. A mission fitted bomber seems a bad choice for that, at least solo.

What would you recommend for this job which is no T3 ship? I know T3s are perfect for this, but atm I cannot afford it for PvP. A BC is a bit to clumsy imho, even nano fitted. I really want to pass gate camps more or less easy. Also I want to use an active tank so I can rep up quickly after my mission...or in case I get a visitor in my mission I'm able to fight.

So I considered an active tanked assault ship. Hawk for instance.

- should be able to tank lvl4 FW missions (?)
- able to rep up fast, I don't want to get caught with 20% HPs
- enough damage to do the mission (?)
- able to PvP solo
- affordable

Does anybody here have experiences with that? Any hints?

When I was in Minmatar Faction Warfare, after flying stealth bombers around for a while (soloing level 4's), I went with a PVP fit Vagabond.

It did lead to good fights -- http://factionalwarfare.info/249/a-gf-is-a-gf-eve-if-a-loss-could-have-been-cut-early/ (had I not burned out my prop module on the Rapier --- lesson learned, lean into the Rapier, don't try to burn away from the Rapier -- the Hurricane would have been down as well).

You may have to be more selective in missions you use it in (I tried to avoid "destroy the ____ (structure)" missions as well as the neuts everywhere mission), but it can be fun.

All of the missions dealing with kill the ___ commander were extremely fast in the Vagabond compared to the stealth bomber; and the industrial ones were so so.
